The North moves in mysterious ways....

Quote..Sinn Féin's leader called for nationalists and republicans to adopt a new approach to "unlock unionist opposition to a new Ireland".
Gerry Adams made the comments at Sinn Féin's National United Ireland conference at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast, on Saturday.
He said it was important to "embrace" positive aspects of shared history.
It comes as talks to restore devolution continue at Stormont.
Mr Adams told the conference that recent election results at the assembly and Westminster showed a "deep political schism" in Northern Ireland. unquote.. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-40393931

Is this all the Brit Sec of State can say?.......
Quote. ''There will be serious implications if the Stormont parties cannot agree a deal on restoring devolution by Thursday's deadline.'' unquote.

There's a bit of the bully boy about James.... or maybe it is he who's under pressure.

No sooner have i spoke than JB [James Brokenshire, Brit Sec of State] has flown in and is at Stormont Castle for late/overnight haggling. It's been a most interesting chain of events here and there [Ireland/England] since this thread began.

Arlene ''brewsters millions'' Foster has twice as much money to burn now.

These negotiations could be happening in secret for all the attention they've been given.

I think people are fed up with the brinkmanship and endless negotiations.

You're right SGD. that's been the mood since this began. The late Martin Mc Guinness [former joint leader at Stormont] made his decision to put the whole agreement into check based on points of principal.

There's no way the DUP would concede an Irish language Act this side of 12th July. Would'nt make them popular around the bonfires.

    Somebody said something about Arlene....

Quote.. It is understood the content sent to Mrs Foster, Northern Ireland's former first minister, was both violent and sexually explicit. unquote..

There's more... An 18-year-old man has been charged with improper use of electronic communications over threats made to DUP leader Arlene Foster via social media. unquote.. http://www.itv.com/news/utv/topic/northern-ireland/

Now that we are past the 12th we may see some progress, although I think SF will see the positives of leaving it to direct rule and when things inevitably go completely pear shaped with Brexit and the government in Britain the blame can be laid squarely at the feet of the DUP and the Conservatives.

    Absolutely,....... ''Give them enough rope.''

Gerry Adams [Sinn Fein President] forewarned Unionism about doing deals with the Tories. In a ''I would'nt trust them'' sense. And as the late Ian Paisley said to the late Martin Mc Guinness ''We don't need the English to manage our affairs.'' [or words to that effect]

You know, while the DUP helped Theresa May cling on to power by her very claws i think her survival depends on political stability in the North through it's devolved institutions.

I think a trait of Thatcher runs through both Theresa May and Arlene Foster........ reckless.

I find that an odd observation.

If anyone has been reckless here, it is David Cameron, who unlike any of the above was of high birth and upper class background.

    Recklessness is classless.

Cameron is of the same mould.

    More Brit waffle...
Quote. Sinn Féin claim the UK government has provided no new suggestions on how to break the political deadlock at Stormont.

A party delegation met Northern Ireland Secretary James Brokenshire at Stormont on Monday, days after the Conservative MP said he was considering a number of options to potentially inject fresh impetus into stalled talks to restore powersharing.

Sinn Féin negotiator Conor Murphy claimed Mr Brokenshire did not present any new ideas during their half hour meeting at Stormont House. unquote.

A bit of respectful/responsible leadership from the Unionist camps might just see power sharing restored in the North. Having gained cross party support from all other parties Gerry Adams/Sinn Fein says there wont be a Stormont Executive without an Irish Language Act.

With Adams doubling down on the Irish language act it is hard to see Unionism backing down now...
