While you're waiting for the UK election results on Thursday, best TV may be the Comey Senate testimony scheduled to begin 10 am ET. Being hyped to high heaven in the US. I think it'll be good, but wont live up to its billing.

There were 2.5 hours of dramatic testimony on the Hill this morning. Dramatic mostly because of questions Admin officials refused to answer, and were unable to explain if there was any legal basis for their refusal. They came across as completely unprepared. At the end of the hearing Sen R Burr (R) NC reprimanded all the witnesses, including his former colleague Sen D Coats (R) not to come back unable/unwilling to answer quetions.

And now we have a release of Comey's opening statement for tomorrow, which is more detailed, (dates/times/places and specific words) than most were expecting, and which appears to raise the stakes for tomorrow. Questions will be better informed etc. Statement here.

The case that Trump tried to obstruct justice just got a lot stronger, and its an impeachable offense.

Former DNI Clapper, said overnight in Oz that this is much bigger than Watergate.

Most expensive US House seat race in history, in the Atlanta burbs, $50M spent, voting today. Romney won the district by 23 points in 2012. Donnie won it by one point.

"Top community leader" in Boston was arrested yesterday and is awaiting deportation in jail.

Big fear amongst the extensive "illegal" Irish population in the U.S.

The guy was stupid enough to go public.......I've never had a high opinion of GAA types.......plus everyone knows Donnie hates the Irish, over golf planning issues.

During a torchlit procession of right wind nationalists in Charlotteville yesterday a truck was driven into counter-demonstrators, injuring several. The fascist types being supported by the US in Ukraine are now running amok in the US.

The election of right wing populists, fascism, racism and war, are a natural progression from the flatlining of the rate of profit rates and the retreat of the organised left.

Trump is now threatening Korea with "Fire and thunder" and Venezuela with invasion. He should not be assumed to be producing hot air. Other US Presidents and other right wing populists making threats like this have followed through.
