Default 70th Anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz - A Crass Comparison?

Today is the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. Children ripped from their mothers arms and shot in the face. Families divided and sent to chambers to die. Their posessions taken and their land occupied. The Jewish people were nearly exterminated because of the policies of a despot who wanted a master race. Fast forward now and we have a situation where the Jewish state are now that very same nazi like state that they cruelly suffered under. Palestinians ethnically cleansed and moved from their land, denied citizenship and forced to live under a brutal regime of apartheid. We speak of the the Holocaust of the Jewish people but we never hear about the holocaust of the Palestinians, those who are voiceless.

What's the point of the thread?

Is it crass or a genuine point to show that a race who was abused subsequently becomes the oppressor? Today is the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz so I think it raises an important point to look at it in a historical context. Those threads are great but this is looking at things from a different and unique perspective buddy...

Are we now saying that the Jewish race is an oppressor? I thought it was the State of Israel that was doing the oppressing.

I would agree that it is a pity that mainstream Jewish organisations in the West are often too uncritical of Israel, but that is not the same thing as calling worldwide Jews Oppressors.

Well its origins were from the persecution of the Jewish population of Europe and subsequently then the establishment of the Jewish state. Im perhaps being misinterpreted here,Im stating the state of Israel via its origins is systematically carrying out war crimes against the Palestinians. Jewish populations in the US and the UK have widely condemned the treatment of Palestine.
