All the TV stations are now airing exit polls, and it is not looking good for Samaras. We all knew he would get beaten, but the exit polls of "Antenna", "Skai", "Mega TV", "NERIT", "ALPHA" ans "STAR" TV all paint the same picture, a SYRIZA win over ND with a majority between 8 and 16%. If SYRIZA gets the upper margin of the projected win, or anywhere near to it, then they are 3 seats short of a majority. This should result in a majority government once the votes of those not reaching the 3% treshhold have been redistributed. Looks like Samaras may be heading for the lecture circuit...

If the exit polls are anywhere near reality, then it is almost a certainty now that SYRIZA will have a majority government. The results are now being shown on http://ekloges.ypes.gr/current/v/pub...2params%22:{}}. On our rock, SYRIZA has a 20% margin over ND. If that is anything to go by, and it usually is, then we are in for a landslide far-left victory. I can only imagine the panic in Brussels, Berlin and Paris. What if the Spanish, Portuguese, Irish, and indeed British and French take heart from this...

I'm hearing of exit polls giving SYRIZA 41% and the strong possibility of an overall majority.

    Thanks for the breakdown, Ephilant.

My neck of the woods, with nearly 10% of the vote counted. No wonder the ND election boots are empty and offices in darkness. Unlike the SYRIZA hangouts...

I imagine that Mr. Hardouvelis [acting FinMin] will settle pending issues of technical nature. Because the programme on which Mr. Hardouvelis has agreed as Mr. Samaras' representatives is now dead. The government of Syriza, the government of national salvation, is the government that will promote, defend and consolidate the interests of social majority but, at the same time, it is not just a message. It is the beginning of a major change for the whole of Europe. Europe cannot continue with the deflation, recession, the rising unemployment and excessive debt. Greece leads the way, our country, our people are the pioneers of a huge change. We are all very emotional and happy

    Revised exit poll MegaTV

    SYRIZA: 36 - 38
    ND: 26 - 28
    To Potami: 6 - 7
    XA: 6 - 7
    KKE: 5 - 6
    PASOK: 4.2 - 5.2
    ANEL: 4 - 5
    KINIMA: 2.2 - 3.2

Anything of 36% gives that party an overall majority.

Wow. A lot of deputies in Greece, Ephilant. I wish them every success. Because it's going to get very nasty now...
