Default Kathleen Lynch TD Endorsed Convicted Child Rapist as did Rapist, Former Labour Mayor of Cork

In the interests of equity, if we are going to ask questions about Adams, we can hardly ignore this.

    http://www.breakingnews.ie/ireland/?...kfoj&c=ireland
Ms Aileen Donnelly SC (with Mr Noel Devitt BL), said the Director of Public Prosecutions placed some of the offences in the case as being "at the upper end of the scale". She noted that some of the sexual assaults carried 14 years imprisonment.
"The fact that other juveniles were present for some of these offences is a significant matter."
Mr Justice McCarthy who was told that the younger victim has been admitted into psychiatric care on occasions as a result of being abused by Casey.
He was told she kept a diary in which she recorded what happened and the effect it had on her, causing her "to hate my life". Among the points she recorded were "Leave me alone" and also "I wish I was dead.".
Mr Justice McCarthy directed that Casey’s name be added to the register of sex offenders and said that while sex offender treatment courses were available, rehabilitation could only happen if the offender accepted responsibility but Casey hadn’t done so.
The judge noted he had received personal letters from Labour TD, Mrs Kathleen Lynch and from a former Lord Mayor of Cork, Mr John Murray, indicating that Casey came from a good family with integrity. He said, however, that he felt there was little in the way of mitigation rising from them in all the circumstances.
In this 2008 case, not only did Kathleen Lynch TD write looking for special treatment for a convicted rapist, but so did Mr. John Murray, the Cork Mayor who had committed rape himself.

Casey came from a good family

She has form in this regard:

In April 2008 she was involved in a controversy where she wrote a letter testifying the good character of the parents of a man accused of raping two teenage sisters. The man was convicted and sentenced for 13 years.

And she has never been fussy about who she associates with. Husband Bernard did a year in prison for the machine gun murder (on behalf of the Sticks) of Saor Eire activist Larry White. Witness statements in court put Lynch as the shooter. He got out on appeal because " a statement was ruled inadmissible because the legal period of detention had elapsed when the statement was taken." Now on the government payroll as an adviser or some other leech on the taxpayer.

Larry White (25): needed to be machine gunned.

Kathleen's brother-in-law Brian managed to "disappear off the face of the earth" when the Gardai were looking for him with regard to a large sticky counterfeiting operation. He is probably the Irish ambassador to North Korea or some such thing at this stage.

    Makes note to self:

Another trick for my alleged arsenal of tricks. Write a letter to the judge!

If the judge suggests that there is "little in the way of mitigation rising" from my private and not sworn testimony for the judge, as opposed to "no mitigation," I now have an angle to overturn his judgement. Perception of bias and all that lovely stuff.

Another note to self: Don't overdo this trick by writing to the DPP. The DPP has been known to have little patience or humour with regard to someone attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Is a judge obliged to disclose that he has received "personal letters" about a case ?

The judge noted he had received personal letters

That's very unprofessional and letter should be published in terms of fairness to the other party in question.

It's disgusting re K Lynch and she haven't a foggiest iota of how many women suffered many a nights of nightmares, anxiety attacks et al.
Her account of being admitted into a mental health care should be taken into account when it comes to sentencing.

His actions re rape defined him not the case of good family. However judges in this country has form of leniency towards rapists says more about Ireland and their attitudes towards women.

Is that the same guy or ??? (where did that conference take place?)

Personal friend of at least 4 government ministers- that's getting interesting......

Wonder, will they make their representations on his behalf by whispering words into a judge's ear off the record??

Best not speculate on identities in Phoenix story folks.

Who, and who ? remind me.
Cass, the former Lord Mayor of Cork, Mr John Murray named above who gave character reference along side Lynch was himself convicted of rape last week.

There has been uproar as a priest asked people at funeral to pray for aquittal

    5,

Are you referring to this one?

GARDAI are investigating an allegation that an official who works with a senior Fine Gael politician sexually assaulted a woman at the Union of Students in Ireland (USI) conference in Ballinasloe, Co Galway, last March.

The man under investigation has held several senior positions within Fine Gael and now works closely with the politician.

The alleged incident occurred at the annual USI congress at the Carlton Shearwater hotel between March 25 and 28. A garda source said they were treating the allegation seriously. “We don’t believe the complaint is malicious,” said the source. “We have a victim and her welfare is our priority.” A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The garda press office said officers in Ballinasloe are leading the investigation and it would be inappropriate to comment.

Alone on the basis of the thread concerning women getting an unfair deal from the justice system we can see there is scope for improvement in a patriarchial judicial system...
