Ireland's qualifying group for Euro 2016

    Ireland
    Germany
    Poland
    Scotland
    Georgia
    Gibraltar

The Scotland match has already seen accommodation and flights skyrocket to the extent that it is now €400 return with Aer Lingus to go over to Glasgow. I'm looking forward to going to the Algarve to see them play Gibraltar...that's if the price isn't crazy to go over.

David Moyes , may be a ***** manager but when it comes to being supportive of his players on a personal level he is one in a million. Kevin Kilbane spoke highly of him and his support for him when his daughter was born with Down Syndrome .

I think the English FA should create such a post - Player Support Person - in order to help players with personal, family and private matters ... and Moyes would be a walk-in for that position if Kilbane's high praise is anything to go by. Then maybe ManU would get a manager not determined to take ManU back to the Dave Sexton's era!!

    Bayern are on fire
    Chelsea can take PSG
Real will stroll to another victory over Dortmund
Barcelona, should win but will stutter, their form in La Liga is not great as of late.

Sunday morning's NBC's flagship political program Meet The Press, world's longest running TV program, on air since 1947, was preempted to show the Man City v. West Ham game. Americans were reported to be searching their attics and basements to dust off their cold war era nuclear armageddon survival kits.

John McDuling on how soccer has finally found a home in the American psyche. “Nine of the 10 most watched Premier League games ever took place during the current season, and matches have, on average, drawn 440,000 viewers each, compared to 221,000 last year. This Sunday (May 11), for the season finale, NBC will air all 10 matches live across its various channels. Let’s stop to reflect on this. A foreign game, a foreign league, is being aired on US television, and people are actually watching it.” Read more here.

New TV Deal Shows How Far American Soccer Has Come and How Far It Has to Go
By Eric Levenson Deals with ESPN, Fox, and Univision will dish out $90 million per year for the rights to put Major League Soccer and U.S. Soccer matches on live TV, as networks are taking the sport seriously than ever.

I think the only man who could have taken over from Ferguson and who could command the dressing room was Jupp Heynckes. You do not argue with a man who has just won the Champions League, the Bundesliga and the German cup. But Moyes was on a hiding to nothing. Aging squad, some prima donnas in the dressing room and the fact that he WASNT Alex Ferguson, even if he sounded a bit like him, was a no-win situation. I feel sorry for the bloke because he seems a very decent man.

There is good talent in the squad with players like Smalling etc. Man Utd will gain success if they ship out the prima donnas (IMO Van Persie et al) and then take on some of the newer younger players from the youth squad, a blend of youth and experience.

At the moment watching the Europa Cup final...about as interesting as pig $hite....
