Public Sector already operates under a system that rewards people who are poor performers and good workers. Its called PMDS . The staff in some organisations are threatened with no pay increment if they perform poorly. If politicams were held to the same account they would be fired in the private sector and get no increment in the public sector. Unless Lucinda can recruit more people before her party gets off the ground the ship risks sinking without leaving port! The Indo reported she wanted Eddie Hobbs as a minister. Dread to think wht the property market would be like if he were minister for finance.

I assume Terence Flanagan is a pro-austerity politician.

It's great to see them being confronted peacefully and on camera.
They shouldn't be given a minute's peace whenever they appear in the public arena. They have questions to answer and as yet they haven't found a way to make this illegal - but they will.

We have a thread on Renua (and I'm about to open a subforum for it). I gave it a pretty lame title - I will change it --- Any suggestions ?

Lucinda Creighton has been very quiet the last couple of weeks which makes me suspicious...what is she planning? Devious ideaologists like her party are the summation of what society is - corporate greed, oppression of minorities and idiotic financial policy. The only peep I have heard out of her has been supporting same sex marriage, comes as a surprise considering she only agreed with civil partnerships before. This flip flopping shows her to be going along with what is populist (as right as same sex marriage is).

    the who?
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lorne_Craner#Activities
The IRI is a non-profit, non-partisan organization founded in 1983 after U.S. President Ronald Reagan’s 1982 speech before the British Parliament in Westminster in which he proposed a broad objective of helping countries build the infrastructure of democracy.
Latin America and Caribbean – It has pursued a nominally neutral agenda, which, however, seeks to question the legitimacy of the region’s current administrations, which nowadays are largely social-democratic or socialist, trying to purport them as non-democratic and resting importance to their electoral results.
The IRI is accused of training some of the leaders of the 2004 Haitian coup d’état, as well as funding opposition groups in the country in a destabilization campaign in the months leading up the removal of democratically elected President Jean-Bertrand Aristide
The Cuban government accuses former Congressional staffer Caleb McCarry of orchestrating the 2004 Haitian coup and attempting to provoke a coup d’état in Cuba.[16] An anonymous State Department source told a Salon.com journalist that the funds McCarry allegedly used in Haiti came from the IRI
The IRI has been accused of supporting the 2009 Honduran coup d’état.
The IRI claims credit for having united and organised a diverse range of “center and center right-wing” political parties in poland
A ministry of justice’s report on foreign funding of NGOs in Egypt has revealed that IRI in Egypt has received funding of about 7 million dollars by USAID for the upcoming Egyptian 2011-12 elections.
Creighton's address - cites Reagan several times, approves the TTIP and wishes for an ever closer relationship between the US and EU.
