    A document is in circulation.....

Quote. Mr Brownlee said the document was basically about how to promote Protestant culture, parading culture, how individuals should behave, how they can help to promote Protestant culture in the public domain through parading and other events.

"We only have to look at our recent past to realise there are challenges out there," he said.

"There are a lot of misconceptions out there about Protestant culture and indeed, parading culture. That's the challenge."

Mr Brownlee said that with 15,000 people taking part in a parade, there would be elements that required guidance in relation to behaviour and to discipline.

The governor of the Apprentice Boys, Jim Brownlee, said the document came about because a project called the Londonderry bands forum wanted to liaise with the loyal orders locally.

The forum was set up to break down young people's preconceptions of marching bands and parading in Northern Ireland.

Mr Brownlee said the Apprentice Boys of Derry, the Orange Order, the Royal Black sent representatives to a meeting with the forum.

"We have a document. What we are looking for now is a response from the wider community. It's a commonsense document which I'm sure everyone can buy into," he said. unquote. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-28688383

I suppose having now marched.....''walked the walk'' they are talking the talk.

There was minor trouble at an anti Internment rally in Belfast this afternoon. You kind of expect that everywhere Willie Frazer shows up.

Here comes the ''inquiry'' into the North Belfast/Ardoyne parade.

Quote.. A nationalist residents' group has said it is angered by reports of a government plan to set up a legal inquiry into the issue of parades.

In July, unionist leaders called on the Northern Ireland secretary to set up a commission of inquiry.

On Tuesday, it was reported that Secretary of State Theresa Villiers was proposing to set up a panel of inquiry over the disputed Ardoyne parade.

A bit vague at the moment and is it enough to prevent a continuation of the progressive response promised by Unionism pre Summer?

Parading more than once or twice a year is not culture, it's lamppost marking

Someone once noted to me that a dog simply marked its lamppost and trotted off hoping his claim would be respected.

Here, the people feel the need to mark the post, wrap it in barbed wire or paint it with heavy grease to dissuade counter-claims and in some cases, actually booby-trap the thing!

The suggestion in the leaked document @ post # 273 has brought criticism from the SDLP also.

Quote. The SDLP's Alban Maginness said unionists should not get their way just because they did not like decisions made by the Parades Commission.

"I think the important point here is to allow the Parades Commission to do its job - it's the lawful authority, let it determine the issues in relation to Ardoyne [in north Belfast]," he said.

"Let's not have another body interfering in the work of the Parades Commission."

On Tuesday, it was reported that Secretary of State Theresa Villiers was proposing to set up a panel of inquiry over the disputed Ardoyne parade. unquote. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-29343357

Don't think the Brits should be interfering.

The Orange Order has called for protests across the North in relation to the North Belfast stand off.
Quote.. Edward Stevenson called for “peaceful and legal protests across Northern Ireland” in the coming weeks in opposition to the Parades Commission.

He also strongly criticised Secretary of State Theresa Villiers for not going ahead with the parading panel and accused her of “burying her head in the sand” over the issue.

The Orange Order leader was speaking at the Twaddell Avenue protest on Saturday, now on day 603, which was set up after restrictions were placed on three Ligoniel lodges during their return march on the Twelfth of July in 2013.

Mr Stevenson told a large gathering: “Ms Villiers – you may be currently more interested in plotting your exit strategy from Northern Ireland politics ahead of the forthcoming General Election – but that is no justification for burying your head in the sand when it comes to this issue. unquote. http://www.u.tv/News/2015/03/07/Orde...-parades-33078

An example of tactics used by Loyalists to goad protesters....

    Good luck Padraig
Quote.. Mr McShane, a member of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, was also found guilty of resisting police, disorderly behaviour and taking part in an un-notified parade.
He will sentenced on 14 June. unquote. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-39932674

A parade of twwo loyalist bands has been given permission to march along a section of the Garvaghy Road in Portadown next Saturday. A first in over two decades. As you can imagine the decision has been protested and this has forced the parades commission to arrange a meeting for this coming Tuesday to review it's decision after receiving fresh information. http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/ne...-30379975.html

Earlier today another annual loyalist parade passed off in West Belfast peacefully. Probably because it was kept behind the ''peace wall''

Edward Stevenson, the grand master of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland reckons the 12th July is the biggest and the best....

Quote.. “Surely there is no other event on these islands that can bring such vast numbers of people onto the streets, either by taking part or simply to watch the music and pageantry.” http://www.larnetimes.co.uk/news/in-...ions-1-8024752

Maybe if Edward stepped outside his own bubble for a day he'd learn that....

Quote.. . The Notting Hill Carnival has since become the largest street festival in Europe, attracting hundreds of thousands to London, and continues to grow in popularity. Expect to see some 50,000 performers in the parade and more than 30 sound systems, with more than 1 million people attending over the carnival weekend. http://www.visitlondon.com/things-to...PdqzsFbq0Di.97

There's more to life..... He should get out more.
