The Journal ran a piece today

    http://www.thejournal.ie/declan-ganl...38175-Jun2013/

Ganley told TheJournal.ie yesterday that the meeting will be “discussing alternatives to the current status quo in Irish political thinking” on a range of issues from economics to abortion.
Are we sending a PW team to report and perhaps ask a few questions that we could pick apart their arguments? Im game The worlds worst kept secret was Ganley was setting up a new party or thinking of it, how many rumours were flying about! Its going to be pro life, pro business but the whole united Europe approach, that might not appeal to a lot of the right wing Euroskeptics in this island...

LOL Look at a comment under the journal.ie article

Ganley is looking to start up Ireland’s version of the UKIP party basically.
lol , thought that was funny!!

Oh yippee. A far right homophobic monetarist Catholic Party. That is just what Ireland needs - NOT!

I don't think you appreciate how disconnected some are from politics. A lot of people will think of him just as "that well spoken bald guy who said the right things about the Lisbon treaty."

His mere presence is enough to garner some support. No matter how crackpot some idea or person is,
given enough publicity, some people will just flock to it/him. Ganley has a great advantage in this respect as the depth of his pockets alone facilitates inumerable opportunities to publicise himself. Look at how far money was able to get Romney.

He polluted the trip to Glasnevin today to bury my aunt.

I haven't been around Dublin for a short time so only got a chance to see the posters today. They are classic Ganley posters - badly designed crap. It suggests that he still doesn't know what he was doing.

The Libertas posters were good because they were done professionally for an organisation. But when you see something done for Decco it is invariably crap.

    Among the mistakes:

    1. Slogan at the top in mixed capitals, the rest of the poster in capitals. WHY? That is a basic no-no. It looks amateurish.

    2. Slogan is not centred but on the left. Bad design mistake. And only Decco insists on constantly following slogans with a full stop. *Cringe*

    3. Way too many words, at too small a font, for the small size of the poster. If you use too many words it looks cluttered. If you use too small a font it is hard to read. Combine them both and someone walking past, cycling past, driving past or a bus passing it won't be able to read it until they are relatively close, and will not then be able to read all the words before they pass it. Does he expect people to stop in the middle of the road to take the time to read his poster?

    4. He own picture, as usual, dominates the poster - sending the message that the most important thing to communicate is not that there are alternatives for Ireland but that this is a Ganley vanity project. voters are not in the mood for vanity projects right now. They are too busy trying to survive. The fact that the poster contains two people's names, but Ganley's is big, with a big picture, and the other name is tiny with no picture, tells the viewer that this is all about Ganley, not Ireland and not the other guy.

You might think these sort of issues are all just a matter of style but actually they are not. One of the reasons Libertas crashed and burnt was because either Ganley surrounded himself by self-proclaimed experts who didn't actually know what they were doing, or they did know what they were doing but he ignored them and did his own thing.

This new poster suggests that instead of learning the lessons from the last disaster he either is still being advised by the same muppets or else is again ignoring people and doing his own thing.

Either way it suggests that he hasn't a clue what he is doing. If you cannot even get something as simple and basic as the posters right it doesn't suggest much ability to do anything else.

Posters gone up in Cork for a Ganley event at the Silvesprings Hotel Wednesday 19th June. Didn't get a pic but similar to the Dublin ones.

    EGO DROVE THE LiBERTAS PROJECT

That was the headline on the last Village piece I wrote on the subject.

A Napoleonic complex was what I was asking about.

"More Charlemange" said a former Libertas insider.
