As you see it from the wide open plains of County Laois.
Fact is, Dublin is an FF-free zone and rural Ireland is still electing them.
    And will continue doing that.
Having said that, Dublin is an open zone, unlike Wicklow, for example.
We take all-comers. And with that , the possibility of FF voters by proxy.
So at the next general election, we may see some of the quislings elected in Dublin.
Part of the price we pay.

Seamus Morris, a Shinners councillor has had to apologise for comments he made on his personal facebook page. He apparently said that "Isnt it amazing that the McEntee family can put their grief to one side to keep their snouts in the trough?" and was quickly made to back track on the comments. An apology was forthcoming for the comments and all the calls from the usual quarters that he lacked compassion yadda yadda. It is my own personal opinion that Helen Mc Entee got in on the back of the sympathy vote. Whilst Morris could have been a little more articulate in his language, he is saying what a lot of people are thinking .

It was an unfortunate choice of words but the Daily Mail hates Sinn Fein so any chance at paddy-bashing and they'll jump at it like a bunch of rabid dogs. Probably a slow news day.

    Spending in Meath by-election

    Fine Gael (€29,842.59)
    Fianna Fáil (€28,913.57)
    Labour Party (€23,988.64) < lol
    Sinn Féin (€15,450.85)

Ben Gilroy qualified for a reimbursement of election expenses but has been referred to the Gardaí for failing to furnish documents.
