Gritty uncomfortable reading. Nothing sugar coated about it and all the better for that.

Something a little different now with our second effort at piece of prose, this time submitted by shaadi.

    http://itsapoeticalworld.wordpress.c...gordon-hudson/

An interesting and amusing piece of satire based on an incident in an Athlone shopping centre involving Enda Kenny and an unemployed protester.

    Enjoy.

And there was me thinking I was only man to pen an ode in this modern world of ours.

Although I didn't know that was what I was penning at the time.

    Then along comes Shaadi.

And brings his pain into my almost expired 15 mins of fame.

Now could you explain to me how I tweet it?

Do you just copy and paste the url in to a tweet?

Thanks Trow and your own effort was superb, definitely book material. I don't yet quite know what I'm supposed to be doing when I'm writing, but practice makes perfect. Jump in anyone else who's a bit shy about coming forward, all you've got to lose is your anonymous dignity.

Clearly you have a fair idea.

    Deep. And good.

I penned this one in Gaol about the rain, if i can recall it all.

    I'm happy when it rains,
It purifies the land and my soul,
It is the never ending chore of nature,

In the yard, raindrops splash the ballet,
As they explode on puddled stage,
While on hillsides streams are forming,
Quickening to merge at the river with thunderous roar.

Rocks tumble, clash and tear at the valley floor,
As they are ushered to the sea,
To be displayed there at the ebb,
    Like a mighty army.
    Happiness is an inside job.

New and exceptionally good poem from a regular poster here who has chosen to use another nom de plume.
