Default Why Republicans have the IQ of a brick...

    http://www.alternet.org/election-201...nic-possession

Apart from the fact that they all believe in a zombie carpenter , a new poll reveals...

A staggering 68 percent of registered Republican voters stated that they believe demonic possession is real. Meanwhile, only 48 percent of self-identified Republicans believe in another equally if not more scary natural phenomenon: climate change.
Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has written a first-hand account about witnessing an exorcism while he was in college.

"Kneeling on the ground, my friends were chanting, 'Satan, I command you to leave this woman.' Others exhorted all 'demons to leave in the name of Christ,'" Jindal wrote.
LOL! Evidence if we ever needed it that all Republican voters are idiots...

The only people more f*cked up by religion than the Irish.

The 'zombie carpenter' meme is needlessly offensive, but worse, it's hackneyed and over-used.

Some Republicans are clearly certifiable, others are highly intelligent and relatively liberal. I know some very nice and extremely smart Republicans. I also know thick, shrill Democrats who are just the flip side of the idiot Republicans...

I don't find it so much offensive, as a bit lacking in tolerance and broadmindedness.

I have no time for superstitions and this includes the bible and the institutions associated with it. I do have time for those whom are seeking spiritual fulfilment through engaging with the world in a manner that does not involve worshipping idolatory figures such as a bloke in flowing robes or the notion of god. Jesus/ or whatever you believe is inside you if you believe in it. Such juvenile notions as jesus and other symbolism are there to be mocked for their unbelievability. Every man is his own church....

Now can we get back to mocking Republicans!

My point is that if you're going to go down that road, try to be original.. Seeing 'The Flying Spaghetti Monster' or the 'Zombie Carpenter' repeated over and over again is like hearing someone tell someone else's joke repeatedly - it wears thin..

Get used to it. There has been a large part of two thousand years when anything but kowtowing led to being burnt alive.

That policy tends to wear thin too. And there's a long way to go yet to even THAT score.

I thought this thread was aimed at bashing Irish republicanism/republicanism itself when I saw the title as you are inherently anti-republican given the fact that you're a political unionist. When you consider the founding fathers of the 13 colonies were against the concept of religion, and that many of them warned of the dangers of kleptocracy and even Lincoln himself warned of the money powers, it's not hard to see why the American republic was later abandoned by the imperialists who overran it.

I get the feeling you have a far bigger axe to grind with Republicanism than the market and Christian fundamentalist interpretation of it in America, and would question the motives of this thread. Abraham Lincoln was the last true American Republican.

    Imperialism became American Republicanism....

American Republicanism as it stands yes, not Irish Republicanism which is a different ball game altogether...

I wondered at first but then noticed the US forum was where the thread was lodged so stood down.

I don't believe that leading Republicans in the US are stupid- they are just playing a dangerous game in leading a convenient social deception.

Quite funny to think that if the putative messiah decided to pop back and say'hello' to Amurka he'd be very likely to die in a hail of bullets. A middle eastern looking man in robes with log hippy hair and a message in aramaic which says the rich should give away their money to the poor.

I'd give him about 5.6 seconds in Texas.

Ironic, that is what would happen. Some gun nut would think jebus looks better with a bit of lead behind his ear...

Just to keep the topic going, check out Michelle Bachmann, former nominee...
