Let's have a bit of clarification here - NONE of this correspondence was seen by either Gump or Shatter - probably still hasn't been seen by Gump and only glanced at by Shatter while looking at the press "my hands are clean" release

Raises the (interesting?) question of who are the people who actually deal with this stuff?? They are "in the Ministers office" are they public servants? I assume the can is carried by the overpaid adviser, who's role and income are well covered in a thread on here.

Like so much of politics and public life in this country, it stinks.

Pretty serious error of judgement by Kenny or by somebody in his office, obviously.

What we still don't know though is whether he did seek to interfere in the case. Based on his 40 years of constituency tending and, more importantly, the fact that the Sindo/Indo hasn't published the letter, it's a near certainty that he didn't.

Did the same thing happen with Phil Hogan? A letter sent from his constituency office about the travellers didnt come directly from him but some lackey who worked for him? Its the height of incompetency if they are letting people send out letters on their behalf and they are not aware of the contents you have to admit. Even if Shatter and Inda did not see the letters they should be aware of anything of that importance that is leaving their office and over all responsible for the content that comes out of those offices, the buck does stop with them! I can imagine that any letters to a TD's office probably go where all those black socks go, some big black hole never to be seen again....
They may crush the flowers, and trample every living thing but they cant stop the spring..
