Are you sure that this is for unpaid work, rather than a payment to take people onto the payroll?

I asked to attend a seminar by our Minister for Social Protection in Slogo last week.
Then briefing was for employers and JOAN AND THE DSP where tellong us what services the had to help us hire a unemployed person.
It was a selling job for jobbridge and during all the presentations not one bad word was stated against this programme .
One of the presentations was given by a outfit called worklink ,they offer a service to an employer to help them with all the paperwork you have to go through before you can hire an intern ,this paperwork was of course created by DSP.
worklink where described as a volunteer employment support network ( what ever that means ) I noted that they where sponsored by CPL iRELANDS largest recruitment agency
When I got back to base I noticed an email on my system advising me that the DSP where going to tender for the provision of an outsourced employment service model.
This service and the outsourcing of same was forced on this Govenmnet by the IMF.the plan is that the private recruitment agencies will interview 1000s of long term unemployed on a fee basis and attempt to find them work failure to engage in thiese interviews will mean that they will be removed from the live register .
The first phase tender has a value of 150,000 euros but the outsourcing is worth millions .
My mind then drifted back to a thread on our site where Joan was warned that she had a problem with this outsouring when she spoke at a G$S sponsored seminar ( G$S carry out this work in the UK ) Joan appeared to endorse their model.
We now have a further conflict in this tender in that the Minister and the DSP are using an agency sponsored by the Largest recruitment agency in Ireland to go around the country as cheerleaders for a shameful Government programme in the middle of a tender process which is out sourcing a service that most recruitment agencies will be pitching for .
I fail to see how this Minister or indeed her Dept can have any role in this tender process ,their unprofessional actions have compromised it beyond repair

I see that one of the FAS Board that had to resign was acting as a cheerleader for worklink this morning on newstalk

I wish I did we will have to watch who is appointed and then look for the documents as I believe that it was preselected
