The last straw for me was knowing that Pilkington and Hoolahan were in Norwich watching Ireland lose to Spain seeing a guy who was unemployed thrown on as a sub in the 73rd minute while they had a good Premiership campaign behind them. Hoolahan played in 36 Premiership games for Norwich last season. All of these games have one thing in common. None of them were seen live by Trappatoni. That is unforgivable.
The Premiership Campaign give world class experience at a top level against tried and tested top opposition. Hoolihan has proved hiimself as a midfielder what more can we say about him? Other thing that is pissing me off is the lack of League of Ireland representation, a lot of the players chosen at championship level would not be as good as the players in the League of Ireland. Quigley of Sligo Rovers,Ger O Brien of Pats etc. All players who could play at international level. Look at Hoolihan, Doyle and Hunt, all top class players and not to forget Fahey . They all played a pivotal role in League of Ireland.

Wes was a huge part of Shels success in the past. He is a class player. If he wasn´t, he would not have played such a pivotal role in Norwich´s great season last year.

He has earned the right to play for his country.

It is a pity the opposition for Wes and Anthony is Arsenal!

Yes it is and hope for the best that Trap might change his so called static plans

Was taking to a guy recently as he said that Trap's team performance dropped a lot after Brady left.

It's the strong teams who were able to read Ireland very well and gave them a huge hammering such as Italy 3-0, Spain 4-0, Germany 6-1 and Sweden next???? Trap's team do well against weaker teams but not top ranked teams unless Trap make some changes for Swedish game on 22nd March?

Ireland strongest chance of a win might be for Trap to be completely unpredictable. Its kind of like good sex. Every so often it just becomes repetitive and boring so somtimes you just need to be unpredictable and spice it up a bit. Trap should experiment with tactics and a new formation and some new players and pull the rug from under the feet of the Swedes. We have become well known for our brand of dour defensive football which offers no chance what so ever of a win against the bigger oppositon. Against the minnows its effective but against the big boys we are dead ducks....

I have faith in Trap, one of the all time greats.

We need to face up the fact that our players are very average. Fluffy, I see a few posts back you called Hunt, Doyle and Wes "top class". Houlihan is a decent player, but all three are distinctly average... Hunt probably below average. Fahey the same.

We just don't have the players. I just hope we will get Dunne back. He is the closest we have to a "top class" player - and he's a long way off being classed that.

The only player we have who plays champions league football is McGeady - unless Trap wants to bring in some of the Celtic lads like Stokes. Gibson is a poor player who flatters to deceive with some Lampard like goals.
