    he's still pretending though.

Even after Rehn, the ECB and Schaueble said no.

Best to pretend so they can carry on regardless..

The alleged necessity for this fiscal council would suggest half the Department of Finance should be out on their ear.

The role of the Irish Fiscal Advisory Council is to
    • Assess the official macroeconomic and budgetary forecasts,
    • In relation to each Budget and Stability Programme Update, assess whether the fiscal stance is conducive to prudent economic and budgetary management, including with reference to the provisions of the Stability and Growth Pact,
    • When legislated for, monitor and assess compliance with fiscal rules as set out in the Fiscal Responsibility Bill.

As far as I can see, the only part of their mandate that the department should have been doing already is they're allowed comment in public.

Why is there a 14 year old, wearing his confirmation suit, on the PAC?

Peter Matthews asking for Gardai to be armed at Questions on the Order of Business. It 'would bring back a bit of 'manners and decorum' to the streets

Was saying the same last week.

How many times are Garda present during these shooting? Not near enough to warrant arming
