This is a total waste of money. If you are not a Minister, then we do not need you.

And then we elect local eejits to sit on councils, when all the decisions are made by the un elected, but qualified County Manager.

Our system was designed to keep the local tribes happy and prevent another Civil War. It has had its day and needs to be radically overhauled.

Break it up and start again.
I agree we need a radical overhaul from top to bottom of the constitution and whole way we interact and run the state. I would start with a blank sheet of paper, something good might come from this disaster then.

Gift pension but continue enjoy VIP treatment at airports. I do not think it unreasonable that the President gets VIP treatment, but the Commissioner is a bit much

It emerged yesterday that almost twenty thousand euro was spent on the facilities in the last six months of 2012 for former President Mary Robinson and European Commissioner Máire Geoghegan Quinn.

They used the facilities on 56 and 22 occasions respectively, between July and December last, with the costs paid for from the Taoiseach's budget.
