The BBC is like any other institution if you're a drone you get trampled. If however you rise to the dizzy heights of pervert Jimmy Savile its alleged you can enter a whole different realm of pampered protection.

More from Paedogeddon... A senior politician is to be 'outed as a paedophile' on Newsnight tonight...

The politician is living, so not Cyril Smith...

God, I hope its a Tory cabinet minister.

However, it will probably be an obscure Lib Dem backbencher.

If Newsnight run with the story, and it turns out to be untrue, Newsnight are finished. If they suppress it then there might be more grief for them. High stakes!

The BBC has not shown itself to be competent to deal with the issue of paedophilia among its own staff. I would be just a bit wary of it trying to head the pack in exposing paedophilia elsewhere.

RTE and the African priest is a horrible warning.

The name is now in the twittersphere, not an MP, a name that has been around this topic for decades now.

And you're right, they had better be watertight, or that's the end of Newsnight..

Very gutsy move by BBC if this is shown.

If its who they say it is then many senior political figures will be tainted. Interesting how the internet renders these injunctions etc useless. This hasn't got to Ryan Giggs proportions yet but if the program doesn't air it will.

What time is the program on at?

And of course Ken Clarke was the Health Secretary when Svile was given control of Broadmoor.

Apparently Saville gave an interview to Antony Clare in 1991. Alarm bells ringing all over the place in retrospect.
A full transcript of the recording obtained by Channel 4 News reveals dramatic insights into Savile's disturbed psyche and his obsession with holding "ultimate freedom". Savile even boasted on air of his escape plans should he ever be caught out in a major career-ending scandal.

The interview appears in a book by BBC Radio 4 Psychiatrist Anthony Clare, like Savile he is deceased, bringing together a number of interviews from the radio series In The Psychiatrists Chai.

Some of the innuendo might be a little unfair, no?

Looks like they are running with the story
