Think National. Act Local. Oh- and superstition is just the dark matter of human history.

Kind of odd watching all this going on from the outside after all we now know here isn't it?
I have vague enough memories of watching Jim'll Fix It as a young fella. Don't think it made much of an impression. I never realised he was so close to the royals and Thatcher either.
Incredible in retrospect that he got away with all this.
There's a clip from Top of the Pops in the seventies going around today which shows him groping a girl live on air.
This is going to compromise a hell of a lot of people who turned a blind eye.
I just mean it's like how we roll our eyes watching denials from Span & Italy etc
You just know the dam is about to burst.
Very interesting post here btw. Recommended reading

Tonight 10.35 BBC1 - Celebrity priest Brian d'Arcy discusses his disillusionment with the the church, his censuring by the Vatican and the sexual abuse he suffered at the hands of other clerics.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-20097934How can I stay in a Church which I've served for 50 years and which now doesn't trust me to speak my mind about religion?
Not a happy camp pere.
Nice flounce
The presenter hit out repeatedly at the BBC during his two-hour show, in which he called his bosses "weasels".
At the end of his show he said: "That's your lot. We don't want to leave but we're being told to by people we've never met who don't listen to [us]."http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-20165756"As you may have heard, this show has been cancelled by the BBC," said Baker at the start of his Thursday programme, saying it had been "an honour and a privilege" to present it.
Throughout the programme he repeatedly said it would be his last show for the station where he has been a fixture since 2001, and that its cancellation had been motivated by financial considerations.
"This is the best show I'll ever do, but that is apparently not the point - it's about kowtowing to the reams of middle management," he said.
http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2012....html?ncid=GEPAnd he criticised the way his co-presenters Amy Lame and Baylen Leonard had been treated.
"By the way, and I hope you'll forgive me but Baylen and Amy get £50 for doing this programme. Fifty quid. I think it's fair to say that Jimmy Savile was paid more by the BBC in six months than Baylen and Amy have earned in the 10 years they have been together.
"A bit too much financial information? Well, you know what, we're cutting this down to size for you with abacuses because that's what it's about. Shame on you for what you have done to my two co-hosts."
