Sindo is playing the sexism card for all it's worth.

No doubt if a male politician flounced because he couldn't get on with a female senior colleague it would be because he couldn't work with a woman boss. This sort of ***** is so predictable.

Great bit of spinning by Reilly. Prone is starting to earn her fees.

You should, because it does no favours at all for Shorthall. It basically is all about men v women in politics and ingrained attitudes and takes away from the substance of Shorthall's resignation and the reasons for it.

Typical Sindo stuff. Froth and foam but zero substance and actually demeans Shorthall by concentrating on her gender and not the political reasons for her actions.

Jimbo comes out fighting to defend his constituents like myself. I still wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him and with his failed diet plan that's getting lesser by the day. Seriously the guy has insulted plenty of his constituents in the past with his populist support of the reroute the East West connector and stoking peoples fears to garner votes. Last I hear he was still spouting that he was working on a plan to re-route it even do they had done most of the construction. Reilly was just hoping that people would forget his pre-election promise to Re-route the Interconnector which helped him top the poll in Dublin North. Then up pops some expert in support of the Health claims against East-West Interconnector who happens to be the former Chairman of the Dublin North FG constituency party and Jimbo pal. Roll on a couple of months later and the judge throws the Re-route Campaign out of court, complaining that with the weak evidence on show it should never have made it to court. How much taxpayers money did Reilly waste with his stoking of a protest campaign so he could top the Dublin North poll? It shows the lack of respect he has for the constituents of Dublin North.

ROISÍN SHORTALL’S successor as Minister of State for Health said he had no reason to assume Minister for Health James Reilly acted improperly in relation to the list of primary care centres.

Dublin South Labour TD Alex White said “there seems to have been, from what I can see, a kind of dispute or a disagreement about the criteria”.

Tuffy says that Gilmore should have intervened in the Shortall row.

Interesting that she waited until after Shortall's replacement was chosen before making her feelings known.

The discomfort levels can only increase, as the budget draws closer.

I wonder has the SP or ULA said anything about this development in the Labour Party ?

Do you think that White getting the job might have affected Tuffy's 'discomfort level'?

I really don't know. I look on these things as closer to geology than psychology. When there are seismic shudders in the underpinnings of society some things crack up. Very unwise to try to predict exactly whom, or how they will explain it.

You have a less cynical mind than me then.

Shortall's 'Everyone's out of step except me' whinge on Finucane at the weekend has raised hackles.

"Galway West TD Derek Nolan said Ms Shortall had taken out a "machine gun" to her colleagues on the 'Marian Finucane Show' last weekend."

If she was working to a plan in all this it's very hard to see what the goal was.

Shortall was in the Dail today

Sitting alone, not in the Government section
