Default Irish mother tells Romney to quit using her son's song

The Dublin mother of Phil Lynott has requested Mitt Romney to stop using her son's song The Boys Are Back In Town at his rallies. The song was used at last week's Republican Convention. On the BBC's Radio 4, Philomena Lynott (81) says her son would not have approved of the Republican's politics. The story was carried by The Guardian, the Irish music magazine Hot Press, and other publications.

The Republicans have form here. Springsteen was pissed off in 1984 when "Born in the USA" was used extensively in the re-election of Ronald Reagan, much to his annoyance until he told them to stop.
