Mental Health Reform is pleased at the appointment of Kathleen Lynch TD as Minister of State with responsibility for Mental Health. A key part of Minister Lynch’s brief will be to progress the welcome commitments contained in the Programme for Government including:
Implementation of the recommendations of A Vision for Change – including the ring-fencing of €35 million annually for community mental health services and the implementation of Reach Out;
Good report in the IT, by Kathy Sheridan.
Impressive people, the protestors.

Prime Time has a report coming up on RTE1 in a moment. James Reilly has come out of hiding to do a live interview.
Reilly quoting numbers/figures and totally avoiding the human element. Health service my arse!
Give me a misty day, pearly gray, silver, silky faced, wide-awake crescent-shaped smile
poor stuff from Reilly
Richard Crowley did a good job there. Reilly really struggled and looked like a beaten man at the end as he tried to get in his soundbite about absenteeism in hospitals.
Good trick by Crowley to say 'we're nearly out of time' about eight minute before the end of the interview![]()
Gump says Reilly is to be praised for making a U-turn on disability cuts but Reilly says there were no cuts in the first place so he made no U-turn.

Not content with slavishly following FF policies, the government is aping their chaotic style as well.
Not so sure about this U-turn. I haven't heard any clear and unequivocal statement that Personal assistants hours will not be reduced.

It's all about keeping the hissing to a minimum while you pluck the goose.
