"I would hope that it wouldn't come to that, as with any situation where someone is in danger, but … that is an act that needs to be stopped."

Protecting life does not mean protecting what is for all intensive purposes not a viable life until a few weeks. There seems to be a competition ongoing in the United States to find the most deeply uniformed redneck on the subject of the US constitution and Bill of Rights and to elect them as high as possible.

The consequences of such a policy will zing back on the electors soon enough. That guy under discussion clearly thinks a sherriff's badge and gun allows him to exercise his own judgement in not only medical matters but in a weird kind of pseudo law that only exists in his own head.

The Hyuk Hyuk crew of the United States. The future's so bright they gotta wear shades. This sort of wallowing in the absence of any kind of intellect brings its own reward in the end.

With any kind of legal system recognisable in the west as democratic this guy should have debarred himself as a candidate on the grounds of intellectual incapacity to be able to understand what a legal system is and that it isn't whatever the sherrif thinks it should be at any one time.

Isn't there something terrible and beautiful about a democratic system that can throw up a candidate like Szabo? One thing that can be said about American politics is that ALL human life is there!

In some Southern States wasn't there some sort of educational test/hurdle a person had to pass before they could register to vote?

Brings a whole new and alarming angle to the whole race debate in the southern states. At one time whites could point to large antebellum mansions and the cotton industry as evidence of a kind of progress.

And black people were kept uneducated so they didn't ask too many questions about the world around them.

Some of the competitive stupidity circulating in the southern states among the so called 'electables' is astonishing. Ignorant in the extreme. When you get even the Republican presidenial candidate from a background that alleges jesus visited Wisconsin in the 19th century and the likes of that clown Aken with his 'legitimate rape' comment you have to wonder whether there is pure unadulterated Stupid being added to the water-supply over there.

In most nations with pretensions towards Empire historically they did at least have the decency to keep the embarrassing out back on the farm but in the US there now seems to be something of a fatwa among candidates on basic education that should be available to anyone with the power to read a book.

I think it has to be the dumbest and probably will be one of the shortest lived attempt at Empire ever.

According to Wilson himself, he first entered politics as a teenager by running a campaign against his next-door neighbor, city council incumbent Charles Hazard. When thirteen years old, Wilson's fourteen year old dog entered Hazard's yard. Hazard retaliated by mixing crushed glass into the dog's food, causing fatal internal bleeding. Following this incident, Wilson obtained a driver's permit and drove ninety-six voters, primarily black citizens from poor neighborhoods, to the polls in his family's two-door Chevrolet. As patrons left the car, Wilson told each of them that he didn't want to influence their vote, but that the incumbent Hazard had purposely killed his dog. After Hazard was defeated by a margin of 16 votes, Wilson went to his house to tell him he shouldn't poison any more dogs. Wilson cited this as "the day [he] fell in love with America."[6]

They sidelined the African American population for years, that case in point was one that showed that you should never ignore anyones vote.

New York recently passed a motion banning fracking in the vicinity or in some parts at least. If the Chinese were to devalue their currency and make their exports cheaper they would benefit greatly wouldnt they or am I wrong there? (Economics is not my strong point). The dollar has one thing at the moment that the Euro or Yuan or Yen dont have, that is prestige. If they were to crash the dollar somehow and get rid of that prestige surrounding the dollar it would finish the Americans off. At the moment America is vunerable as they rely on so much oil imports yet again the companies in Iraq have the oil fields carved up between them.
