The guy who allegedly "barged across" Ursula Halligan in the flowerpot incident ?

Perhaps he's on holiday. On €168,000 a year he could afford one.

There is one hand and mind behind a number of sloppily written and overblown speeches delivered by Enda. Such is the relish and conviction with which he pronounces this stuff, that I strongly suspect he wrote them himself. Unless he and Kennelly are of one mind.
"Enda Afflicted By Self Importance"
http://www.independent.ie/opinion/an...e-2880063.htmlanother mounting problem for Kenny is a growing antagonism toward his chief of staff Mark Kennelly.
Given Kenny's notable limitations in presentation and complex economic matters, Kennelly, a previous acolyte of Michael Lowry, who earns €168,000 from the taxpayer, is seen as having "far too much influence".
"Fine Gael for nine years now has been run by a bunch of non-elected heads including Kennelly around Kenny, who hold sway in how things go in the party," said one TD.

RTE finally caught up with this today - I think the Sun was the first Irish paper to follow it up

Handlers won't say who wrote it.
In a previous speech, Enda compared Ireland's situation with the Battle of Leningrad, (in which people survived by eating cats etc.)
Enda and Mark Kennelly - a doorstep - great photos from Broadsheet.

Are we surprised that Enda revealed himself as a bit of an idiot?
Being smart was never a requirement to be elected to the Dail and being a bit of a fool is probably handy in making your way to the top of a Party (as the cute hoors can operate behind the scenes and still get what they want).
- Friends of the Irish Environment, 28.04.2003"The land Coillte Teo is now selling for development was given to them by the State in 1988 to ensure that our woodlands were run commercially, not to enable them to sell the family silver to service bank loans".
Niamh Connolly had a profile of him a while back and said Enda reads or says nothing without prior approval.
The speech has been edited http://cedarlounge.wordpress.com/201...-dublin-redux/
Was it us the Irish Times was giving a nod to today?
Some users of social media sites highlighted the inaccuracy at the beginning of this week. Irish Times columnist Vincent Browne noted it in his column in yesterday’s newspaper, saying Mr Kenny had made an “extraordinary claim” since Lenin was never in Ireland.
A time between ashes and roses is coming
When everything shall be extinguished
When everything shall begin
Actually, I think Cedarlounge revolution may have picked up on the error before us. We were both ahead of the media in any case.
As far as I can see it has not been mentioned on politics.ie until today. They are chasing everyone.![]()
A time between ashes and roses is coming

Now they have amended the speech on the government information site. This is apparently what Gump actually said.
Great English. "brought Lenin's attention to Ireland".The outstanding organiser who brought Lenin’s attention to Ireland to see how the National Loan worked.
Sigh
A time between ashes and roses is coming
When everything shall be extinguished
When everything shall begin
Someone has pointed out this speech editing thing is a bit Stalinist![]()
Cedarlounge picked it up first.
I was watching and posting about the speech, but after the first paragraph that took in Tutankhamen and Stalin, my brains went into spasm and I missed Lenin.
I still can't get confirmation as to whether that "Life and Love" "quote" is from the film script or actually by Collins. Any idea?
on the Obama speech
http://penhire.blogspot.ie/2011/05/t....html?spref=twBut like all his speeches, Mr Kenny laid down the outline of what he wanted to say on Monday evening, the mood he wished to set and the message he wanted to send out.According to sources, while Ms O'Callaghan usually polishes up the final draft, others contribute to the areas where they have expertise. After the general election, Andrew McDowell, who wrote most of the Fine Gael manifesto and who has a broad knowledge of economics, moved into the Department of the Taoiseach.Mr McDowell and another young policy adviser, Paul O'Brien, who also worked for Fine Gael in opposition, contribute to any of Mr Kenny's speeches that touch on their areas of expertise.Other government departments are also asked to submit material from their specialists if a specific speech requires technical details.Chief of staff Mark Kennelly vets most of the speeches before they are delivered, but Mr Kenny has the final word on every speech.
