Default Greed is not good - it's "Wonderful" - Mike Soden, former BoI CEO

Ex banker wants the market rigged.

The comments afrter this story give some hope, at least...

Soden said that Nama should act to invigorate the market...

"The easiest solution, in my judgement, is that Nama has got the responsibility of establishing a base price, or a floor price, for property in the country," he said.

"Because if you woke up tomorrow morning and the headlines in the Thursday property section of the newspapers read that property prices had increased by 10%, the wonderful factor of greed would re-enter the marketplace, and you would find that there is a turn in the marketplace."
breakingnews.ie - Soden: Nama intervention would bring 'wonderful factor of greed' back to property market

How much was this guy paid?

People like Soden are members of a religious cult that has at its centre a priesthood made up of those who spout a dogma based on fiat money.

At one time in Ireland land and property was valued quite properly on what it could produce or support. Land was not x thousand per acre but worth 20 cows because that was what the land could support.

People like Soden are determined to operate an entirely theological set of values in their dogma which allows them to invent 50 fictional cattle against the reality of 20 cattle that the land could actually support and get their hands on the sales money for the 30 fictional cattle over the top.

Essentially they are carpetbaggers trundling in and out of town flogging falsely valued products and wholly admiring something like NAMA because they recognise a fellow traveller when they see one.

In our original social and legal system Soden would have been buried alive under judgements or declared outlaw long ago.

I wonder how Soden would feel if myself and a few lads turned up at his house when he is on holiday and relieved him of every valuable possession- and left a note saying 'Isn't greed wonderful?'

Would he not bother the Gardai at because he'd have to agree I had a point?

Paddy has learned nothing. Paddy doesn't want to learn anything.

In all seriousness, if you have any sort of trade or qualifications, just get the hell out now. Raving sociopaths like Soden are in charge of Ireland, have always been in charge of Ireland, and always will be in charge of Ireland. Because a brutalised and damaged populace looks up to their oppressors. It's a hopeless case of a country.

One good loud bang involving just one of these little shytes and there would be a tremendous silence thereafter from that scutlike element of the population.

At least we've answered one question in Ireland. No matter how much money an Irish scut earns it is still too stupid and scutlike to close its mouth. It just has to keep on braying in the hope someone somewhere will regard it as a great fellow.

One loud bang and all that would cease instantly.

Not so sure about that, Con. Some ancient Irish kings, druids and possibly even bards were no great role-models for social responsibility!

Maybe- but the system they worked in held them responsible for all in their clans or septs and the law was the same to them as it was to the freeman-with-land or freeman-without-land.

There were privileges of position for those you mention but the responsibilities rose towards the sept as the privileges rose. And a King could be slid down the social hierarchy as quickly if not quicker than a freedman. By the law.

What we have now are privileges for political chieftains and no discernable responsibilities other than a media profile.

Where on earth does Soden think the money is going to come from to allow NAMA to prop up property prices across the whole country?

Maybe he has a deal with Boyd-Barrett to get some of the magic beans.
