It would be a disgrace imo for socialists to rely on charity to keep children out of poverty in Ireland.

Even allowing for deductions that is a good whack.
For the level of the job it's not spectacular.

    Girrrrrrrrrrrr
Funnily enough I never said that such people are reading or posting on PW but if they're not it could help explain their smallness of mind.

And maybe I am wrong, maybe that is the right way to go.
But if that is the case surly they should have planned in advance and said what they were been forced to do. In other words go in all guns blazing, and not apologetically as they seem to be with this "planned a year ago" bs.

It is a big play, I am sure if the Government wanted to they could say the money given to Barnardos was on the understanding that they provide a year-round, 52 week service, so therefore they can sing dixey for their next grant.
Fergus must be VERY confident he still is best palls with the Labor part of the troika branch office and that they will stand up for their buddy if the Fine Gael dog growls.
    I suspect he has miscalculated.
The troika sub-office might make an example of him and Barnardos. They might see, down the line Hospitals closing for the same rational as Barnardos.

No, overall I think it is better to state your intentions and as I said, go in "all guns blazing". Maybe Fergus is trying to be a tad to clever. Time will tell.
My thought was that Finlay had no clout in Lab any more and that's why he had to take such an extraordinary step.

Socialists have a duty to the families in Ireland as they are the future generations. Again the money spent on the HSE running homes would be better spent giving grants to families to foster and adopt children and raise them as part of their families. The children get a loving home and the state sees the children raised in better conditions than some cockroach infested kip run by the HSE upper echelons. The other thing is that we could have gay couples adopting, a gay family can offer a good home as much as a straight family can. In this modern era where the whole place is awash with money for absolute follys we should redirect it, in fact we are morally obliged to, in order to protect the most vunerable in society.
