Default "Notice to Sheriff and Bar"

If tou have been around Dublin (and maybe elsewhere?) recently you must have seen the small notices pasted on litter bins and postboxes. Anyone know who or what organisation is behind this campaign?

They are probably inspired by the "Freemen" movement. Well that is my best guess anyway.

For those unfortunate people who live outside Dublin here are some examples of what I am talking about.

It seems whoever is behind this campaign is getting impatient.
Spotted recently a slightly more direct variation on the same message

    Looks like "Freemen" stuff allright.

Extreme libertarianism that pretty well doesn't recognise the Courts.

The nearest thing we have to the Americans who hide out in the woods and prepare for armageddon.

At last the Occupy lot can say without fear of contradiction 'We're not the maddest'.

Given their doughty support for the landlord with 47 rental properties, it wouldn't surprise me to learn that they had a delegation there as well.

Misguided, clueless, misled, stupid, maybe. What's with the 'zombie' remark?

That might be my fault. I was forcibly stuck by the resemblance of the photos of the event to a still from "Invasion of the Body Snatchers."

And it is uncanny and a little disturbing the way that normally rational people can get swept along by a populist gesture.

The problem is when they start taking action. Until that point, they are just stickers and flyers.

Indeed. Braindead was my instinctive reaction.

The people on the Ballyconnell march are as wrong as it it possible to be. That doesn't take away from the fact that they are still normal people reacting to events in their community as they see them. The Quinn saga is starting to smell a little bit of the faggots piled high and the oil poured on.

You are being far too kind to them. If I wanted to be kind to them, I would merely call them apologists for criminality. But I don't.

News of a 'free bar' afterwards would help to lift the spirit.

I agree. The Quinns were only welcome in Golden Circles when they were loaded with cash.

For them to be jailed while no one from Anglo Irish has been prosecuted could easily look like scapegoating.
