Faced with that, I think we all might find very little room for disagreement.
This is all very true, but is it a reason to avoid discussion of what tactics work and do not, based on the experiences of recent history ?

The group I criticised was the British SOE, who, if you follow this timeline, were dropped into France and in many cases arrested immediately or soon after arrival, and who also got many local people arrested.

It appears very likely the group was penetrated at a high level, in Britain. The other question was to what extent did the British-backed agents in France operate with a view to keeping an eye on, or undermining, the CP dominated resistance.

Highly unlikely I would have thought.

A great extent I would have thought.

The strategic aim of the military campaign of the new formation is outlined in Breen's article.

He agreed that the paramilitary group would be limited to mounting sporadic attacks and was incapable of waging a sustained campaign of violence as the Provisional IRA had.

"Those days are gone. Our aim is to disrupt Britain's normalisation policy. We do not need to carry out military operations every day or every week to do so," he said.
If that is the aim I'm wondering if there was another way it could be accomplished without filling the jails with young people.

Along with the support for de Gaulle. It reminds me just a little of what's happening in Syria at the moment.

I think the ''unity is Strength'' argument should be developed to the point of a Unilateral ceasefire.

There's no surrender or defeat in that and from it i foresee an advantageous edge that would cut through any legal argument presented by the British at up coming judicial proceedings in relation to stop and search, internments and other aspects of ''anti terror laws'' applied in Ireland such as to Martin Corey and ''all'' Republican prisoners.

The Brits rely on the ''Security Situation'' remaining ''Severe'' to enforce their argument through the Courts using secret and emergency type acts.

By any IRA's own admissions, you don't have to be engaged in armed conflict ''every day'' to register resistance.

There are greater strengths to be felt in the interim if you'd just be bold enough in a whole new way you might just come to realise that.
