Can remember at Mahon, Lawlor and Bolger trying to confuse everybody about breeding horses and the horse had no name and may or may not have died, the pair spread total confusion.

Could never understand why AOB came out and supported the Casino + Lowry with drivel like it would be good for the area, more likely it IMO have been for off shore company advice, still got in trouble though.

    "O’Brien’s tax bill

Whisperview Trading Ltd, a company owned by horse trainer Aidan O’Brien, was among those named on the defaulters’ list as part of the offshore investigation case.

O’Brien and his wife, a co-owner of the horse training and breeding business, had to pay €177,639 in taxes and €526,077 in penalties and interest ".

Lowry sure is playing with big boys if he is selling to Michael Tabor, would Lowry honestly know the grass from the shlte end.

Would be deeply suspicious of Lowry's horsey dealings, main question would be how was the mare financed + the covering and boarding fees are quite large and no major financial return is secured yet.

He only owns a half a leg
RACING NAVAN REPORT: DONNAS PALM advertised the “horses for courses” theory with a vengeance at Navan yesterday when he secured victory in the Grade Two Flyingbolt Novice Chase for his political masters.

Owned by the dozen members of the Grand Alliance Racing Club, including former taoiseach Brian Cowen, Donnas Palm made it five wins from five at Navan with a thrilling head defeat of Foildubh.

The high-class grey, who has now won 11 races from 28 starts, was welcomed back by some of his cross-party owners including ex-cabinet minister Noel Davern and former TDs GV Wright and Liam Cosgrave.

"The winner is owned the Grand Alliance Racing Club, which consists of a group of politicians, who have enjoyed great success with the horse who has won eleven races and over €250,000 in prize-money. Donna’s Palm was bred by Juliet Brown and was bought by Gillian O’Brien as a yearling in Tattersalls Ireland for €6,500 ".

What some people would call a fun horse, has won a few quid which will go to pay his way and probably buy one or two more similar types, dreams of Cheltenham.

Defo will not be seen anywhere near the hallowed breeding sheds of Coolmore, wouldn't have the balls for it.

It really does seem quite strange for Michael Lowry to take up an extremely expensive hobby like race horse breeding at a time when he had settled with the Revenue for 1.4 million and supposedly had been forced to remortgage his house. You really have to hope that Coolmore didn't charge him full whack for stabling and stallion fees
