Thanks for that Ah Well, seems they are going to be going down the same route as Monaghan. I always advocated that we should have slapped preservation orders on the clubs and that may stop them going out of buisiness. Claim they are part of our hertiage. When its put in the context of the obscene amount of money that John Delaney is earning its all the more shameful. The FAI and others in league of Ireland should hang their heads in shame.Cobh, Kilkenny, Dublin City, Kildare Town all now going to the wall. Sack Delaney for this incompetence in letting the clubs go to the wall.

The Licensing system is a joke, and in the manner in which it is implemented. There are meant to be basic standards for grounds and then you see the likes of Jackman Park (Limerick) and Fahy's Field (Mervue)

says the man who gets paid more than his Spanish (European Chamnpions 2008 and 2012, World Champions 2010) and Italian (World Champions 2006, European Runners-Up 2012) counterparts combined.

Delaney is seeking to bully all FAI emploees into a deal as he does not wish to attend LRC which may comment on his style of management and salary, also does not want a war of words with SIPTU.

Govt provide annual grants to FAI, time for them to insist on salary reduction on Delaney to approx 90/100k, he was an accountant in a cash n carry and would barely get that amount now, anytime Delaney wants to test the job market, let him go ahead.

He runs the FAI like a dictatorship, very few would dare go against him, he has all the votes in his pocket.

IRFU also need to do something as the FAI/Delaney aint going to come up with their end of package on LR.

FAI are €64 mio. in debt so this must worry the IRFU. Delaney's counterparts in Spain and Italy can point to 6 years of success in international football but he can't even pay the manager of the Irish team out of FAI funds. And one must question his judgement in extending Trappatoni's contract before the Euro 2012 championship took place.

Is the Aviva at risk? I'd hate to see it mothballed.

One of the few good things to come out of the boom.

Can't see, under present circumstances, why anyone would need more than 90,000 a year.

It is enough to buy two houses, cash.

Delaney trying to force the staff to sign up on Fri 24th and the LRC is on the 27th, slimeball, SIPTU should be well onto his ways.

Delaney says he has had other offers but they are only known to himself.

Was there some rumour doing the rounds about Delaney leaving the FAI and going to a job in the Olympic set-up?

After all, we may not qualify for the World cup in Brazil but we will definitely have an athlete or two in Rio. Which could be a huge attraction for him.

Read where the present head of IOC does not take a salary, only expenses, this would not suit Delaney, who would want both + bonus/pension.............

Delaney was at the Olympics in London, saw him at the boxing, was probably on the plss with Bertie chatting about what might have been with th Bowl etc.,... you can easily imagine this pair sinking a few for Irl on the FAI's bill.

Does the man have no boundaries at all? Think Delaney is involved with the Olympic council here already...

Thought he may be in contention to succeed Hickey according to the IT
    http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/...320886420.html

OLYMPIC GAMES: FAI CHIEF executive John Delaney is is contention to take over as president of the Olympic Council of Ireland (OCI) after Pat Hickey stated his intention to step down from the position following his elevation to the executive board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) yesterday.
