I agree with you. If this form of media is to grow it has to be willing (eager) to debate, discuss and if necessary challenge other sites. The idea that any news paper would refuse to discuss any other news paper is ridiculous, I'm pretty sure they look upon it as a form of free advertising...

Well advirtising would be shy of the mark but I am sure the site would grow and we could have a redemption clinic for the recently pie perma-banned where known users of pie could explain things.
But no no no its over we discuss www.politics.ie or our site suffers and looks bad


if they ban people for a concert review how are they manipulating free expression and indeed political trends?
They are a media force and they need to be observed, commented on , and praised or reproached as any large media outlet should be ...www.boards.ie too.

I don't think any poster should run to another site to weep all over it like some sort of weird agony aunt but nor do I think one site should avoid discussion of another site, not as a point of principle that doesn't imo make sense.

I was thinking more of the poor innocents who cant understand what happened as they were just stating their points. You know some people have really bad reactions to the systemic rejection that politics.ie imposes on many oft avid users of their site.

I would think the most prominent reaction would be a very bad temper and obviously the more unreasonable the banning the worse the temper would probably be,

I like the idea of a forum for members to rant freely. Interesting.

But an end to dumb ass censorship.

It is time we formed a committee to examine the latter as I think it is high time we were able to fully discuss the worms, the running dogs, the bought and paid for

Well Sam Lord that is something as a site we must discuss with some rationality.

For a start we are allowed discuss RTE, Irish Times, NYTImes , Al Jazeera etc

oft times and you can search it we have talk discussed the Storm Front stie....oft times Ganley's Libertas bulletin boards, UKIP etc in the UK were dicussed etc Taxi men bulletin boards have also been discussed it seems we CANT discuss selected sites such as www.politics.ie; a bullletin board that claims journalistic prerogative such as "breaking stories" may not be discussed then surely Vincent Browne's TV show should not have it's own thread Robert Fisk should not be discussed as he writes for a "newspaper".etc I am afriad Politics.ie is obviously something we all should be able to discuss as it is an influential opinion maker and it is also a media outlet breaking news media stories...

Its a site that should be open to criticism as much as the next. However I do think that there is a policy here of good fences with neighbours and all that but I do think that constructive criticism should be allowed a lot of which the members have. PK's point and Kev Bar's points are completly valid having experienced first hand p.ie and what its like and for me it was not a nice experience. But look onwards and upwards, he runs a differnet site to us, what works for him does not work for us !..
