I see that Enterprise Ireland have today announced a net increase in jobs created by their sponsored companies of 4000.
However Enterprise Ireland supported companies shed 9000 jobs .the cost per created job is around 13,000 euro and their overhead ,staff cost and expenses are running at 40 % of their overall budget very close to the figure of grant aide to their supported companies.
In most of the developed world this outfit would be closed down ,instead we have our Minister for Jobs spinning out these figures as a success what madness .

I actually don't have a huge problem with FDI in theory. I think if these companies would just pay the 12.5% they are supposed to, and if we created more jobs at state level or through Irish based companies, our economy would be a lot healthier as a result and t'wouldn't be so reliant on boardrooms in other countries.

There is a problem when they dont spend the full budget. Low corporation tax only works so far and we should create an incentive where the more people the employ the lower the corporate tax rate becomes. You are correct though, an Irish based economy based on manufacturing and using the expertise we have in pharmaceuticals and IT and perhaps renewable energy and we could be a world leader...
