That rumour would appear to be correct

    * Merkel strong supporter of team

    * Players call chancellor 'lucky charm'

German chancellor Angela Merkel will attend Friday's Euro 2012 quarter-final with Greece in Gdansk, adding to the political spice in a clash that pitches the euro zone's most troubled economy against its rich northern paymaster.

A Greek shirt??? In the middle of Berlin?? Eh, I don't think so. I know what the average German thinks of Greece so I won't be embarking on any kamikaze behaviour, thanks all the same!

Greek team preparing for Friday evening

But Schauble once again says "Nein"
The Greeks have played great against Russia. This is not an easy game. But the German team is in top form. And so I think that Germany wins with 3:1.”

There are a few public viewing spots here for it. Potsdamer Platz is one of them.

But I will be watching in a pub in Prenzlauer Berg. Food in a Russian restaurant first
and then an evening of good football (I hope!) and better beer.
