She's had her own issues with the Revenue of course. Not sure she'd be the best possible person to ask for a character reference in these particular circumstances.

Rumour has it....worse to come (not on Regina specifically).

That was the old Regina. The new Regina is whiter than white.

    The Perry case is back

A witness alleged to have been put under pressure not to give evidence in a case taken against Fine Gael is expected to make a public statement in the coming days.

And still investigating why they were not given free reign of the country

Meanwhile, Taoiseach Enda Kenny yesterday met a number of Fine Gael TDs who have compiled a report into the party’s general election result.

It is understood the report was issued to Mr Kenny over recent days and he sought a meeting to address some of the points raised.
The TDs are said to be highly critical of “unelected officials” who they say played a significant role in the party’s poor performance.
It is understood to also call for a person to be appointed to prevent leaks from the parliamentary party meetings.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar is facing a storm over 'fake news' amid an explosive claim he suggested the creation of anonymous online internet accounts to make positive comments about news.

Mr Varadkar is alleged to have floated the idea while he was contesting the Fine Gael leadership race.
The claim - included in a new biography of Mr Varadkar - has been described as "shocking stuff" by Fianna Fáil TD James Lawless.

The book says: "At one point, Varadkar floated the idea to one TD of creating anonymous accounts to make positive comments under online stories on popular news websites. It's unclear how far the proposal was pushed."

    Who’s a naughty boy then?

The communications minister and his officials have been accused of a “flagrant” breach of protocols governing contact with bidders for the National Broadband Plan.

Denis Naughten accepted an invitation from David McCourt, head of the telecoms investment company Granahan McCourt, to a private dinner in New York with department officials in mid-July.

more dinners revealed. Leo pretending Naughten was not simply following orders

    Naughten has resigned

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has sought an independent report on the National Broadband Plan to determine if it has been compromised after details of further private dinners between Denis Naughten and the broadband bidder were revealed.

In the Dáil this afternoon Mr Varadkar outlined interactions between Mr Naughten and David McCourt, the US businessman involved in the tender for the broadband plan.

This dinner was organised by Minister for State Pat Breen, who was also at the dinner.

So, Breen and Varadkar should have to go too in this case as they were clearly involved in the running of this campaign and the favouritism shown towards this one group.

    Breen should go for sure

    The whole thing stinks

FG can’t even do corruption well! At least FF could do that

A dinner at businessman David McCourt’s home in Co Clare, attended by Mr Naughten, was organised by Minister of State Pat Breen.
Senior Government figures say Mr Breen is “an innocent bystander” in the controversy.

    from NWL

On Monday last our state-backed IIF bought 22% of Enet from David McCourt. Today, the National Broadband Plan (which featured Enet as a provider) is practically in tatters.
The value of the 22% stake in Enet has probably plummeted in the past 72 hours.
How much did we pay for it?

Why would the State buy a share in a company that was about to win a State contract?
