Default Secret billionaire to invest in Primary Care ?

A "major fundholder" may be interested in investing up to half a billion euro in primary care Reilly has suggested at a GP's AGM in Galway.

While he said the Department of Health would be making a major fund available for the expansion of primary care centres, he added that Hawkins House was also “in negotiations with a major fundholder of a half a billion euro”.

“I can’t say too much more about that because there are at least two such funds who would be interested in investing in primary care in this country,” the Minister added in relation to the €500 million investment.
Probably worth keeping an eye on moves like this while FG are in charge of health.

Well 'major fundholder' doesn't come across as being in it for the good of they're health as it were

I'm not exactly up to speed of the health services but that kind of dosh will bring influence anyway.

    Worrying.
    But unsurprising.
They, (FG) weren't shy in their manifesto about privatisation.

Interesting. That's just reminded me of the health care investments of JP McManus, Dermot Desmond and Magnier discussed on another thread some time back:

    It doesn't sound Chuck Feeney-esque.

True. It sounds more Dick Cheney-esque.

I am not keen on the word "privatised" bacause it does not sufficiently get across the grubby motives of the providers with sufficient venom.

Commercialised, For profit only or Mercenary health "care"(!!!) is more appropriate for the type of theft being slowly introduced.

On a related note, I was reading Daniel Goldhagen's "Hitlers Willing Exectioners" yesterday. Was reminded a lot of Mary Harney and her f***ing dreadful and appalling
    career.

Alas, no Nürnberg process for her.
