In Brussels late last night, Luxembourg’s premier Jean-Claude Juncker issued a withering attack on those who are questioning Greece’s place in the euro and said no minister spoke about a Greek exit.

“This is nonsense, this is propaganda and we have to respect the Greek democracy,” said Mr Juncker, who is chief of the euro group ministers.

“I’m against this way of dealing with Greece, consistently provoking the Greek public opinion and giving advice and indications to the Greek sovereign. We don’t have to lecture Greece, the Greek public. The Greek citizens, I’m respecting them, have to know that we agreed on the programme and that this programme has to be implemented. But I don’t like the way of dealing with Greece of those who are threatening Greece day after day. That is not the way of dealing with partners, colleagues and friends and citizens in the EU.”

Looks like someone else is joining Hollande on the changing european agenda. Kenny and co. are isolated now.

Shane Ross, along with others including Marian Harkin, are calling for a delay in the Referendum.

Ganley's "No" is really a "Not now" - as he, as well as others, is proposing a strategic initial No vote leaving the door open to a second vote after negotiations on debt.

    That is also Namawinelake's position.

It is pragmatic, but will muddy the waters enormously in the event of a No vote being passed as no one will know what it means.

Fair play to Juncker, he understands how things are for the people on the peripheral in Europe. If more European leaders were to come out and then take a stance on the way things are then Europe might finally take a step back. Greece, France, Netherlands have all or are all going to vote in governments that will tell the Troikia and their ilk where to stick the bail out package and it will be where the sun does not shine....

Forget the spin from govt - I've scoured the French sites and Hollande has unambiguously said that he IS going to RENEGOTIATE THE TREATY to include growth. He will then ratify it - not before. So the text will be changed

We now have a constitutional crisis on our hands in embryo and an adult must be found somewhere in govt to sort this out

Surely the game is up? Hollande is insisting in renegotiating the Treaty to incorporate a new chapter on growth.

RTE desperately trying to protract the confusion by saying that a chapter would be "added."

This would not be a protocol, it would be a change to the Treaty.

The vote that we take will be meaningless.

Someone should take this to Court. - Oh yes, someone already has.
