Groups from the Andalucian Workers Union swooped on two supermarkets in Seville and Cadiz today and filled trollies with basic foodstuffs. They then loaded the food into a lorry destined for a local charity which distributes food to the poor.

They should get themselves a banking license.

Once they have that, they can steal whatever they want and pay themselves with taxpayers money.

The couple of hundred euro supermarket raid by the Andalucian Workers Union yesterday seems to have unleashed a bigger backlash than the 100 billion euro bailout for the corrupt Spanish banks.
The Interior Minister issued a statement today that the police have been ordered to arrest the people involved in the Seville action which was led by Sánchez Gordillio, local IU(United Left) deputy.

The products that were confiscated for charitable use were all basic foodstuffs (rice, pasta, milk, etc). They were then given to local charities that provide for the people who have no way of meeting their needs. (there is no dole after a while in spain, therefore if youre unemployed for more than 6 months you get nothing)
there is now 26% of the population living below the poverty line, and in andalucia its alot worse than that.

Gordillo (the guy who is leading this action) called the interior minister a fascist and a 'francoist' and called for the government to arrest the bankers who have robbed millions (specifically emilio botín).

The elites in the EU and throughout the world for that matter will be tried in the peoples court eventually.

Jail sentances might be the best they can hope for.

The strange thing is that they have not realised it yet. They actually seem to think that they have gotten away with it. In fact they seem enboldened by the weakness of the political classes.

The lack of political leadership will lead to people firstly starting to ignore the decisions of Govt, i.e the refusal to pay the household charge in Ireland and the strikes in Spain, Italy and France and eventually to mass protest a la Egypt.

i think that if this man goes to jail for this action there could be uproar all around the spanish state. The one problem vis a vis revolution in europe is that the elite (political and otherwise) is tightly linked through the EU but the peoples still operate on a country basis.

Itll be interesting to see how this is overcome in the coming years

Even seperately the peoples outnumber the elites.

The one thing the elites thought they had over the peoples in order to exert control, was debt. More fool them, as the reverse is actually the case.

A massive countrywide refusal to make debt repayments will bring the elites to their knees and they know it.

Govts seem to think that we are prepared to pay our own mortgage twice. They think we are willing to meet our repayments and those of the Banks. People will eventually cop on to the illegality of being forced to pay the debts of private Banks.

    I very certainly hope so.

Back on topicish, this guy headin up this supermarket thing is also a TD for Seville from the IU (LEFT) party. They havent managed to make much inroads electorally in the last election but i have a feeling that if this guy is thrown into prison it might just spark off something in spain that could really destroy the established parties and their debtocracy.

Morning Ireland reporting that Spanish schools are to charge students who bring their own lunch to school €3 a day for use of the canteen to eat it.

I wonder if they will sue, following the British example?

I suspect a lot depends on whether or not Spanish bonds were sold under "british law" recent cases were held in English courts because of this fact.

    Indeed power is key

Over the last few days I spoke to at least 4 retired British people living here permanently, they are all looking to change their bank acounts in the Uk, but can't because of the residency thing.
Why do they want to change? All are RBS customers, and all have been told that RBS is at the verge of being taken over by...Santander????
