Quite a few seem to be doing the rounds since the start of this month. A couple of appearances on newstalk and most made contributions to the catholic series the Irish Times were running long side the EC. On politics, Lorcán Price is a Fianna Fáiler while Martin Daly has been active over the years, No to Lisbon 1 & 2, Libtertas European Election Campaign in Mayo, Pro-Life referenda groups and the fiscal treaty with the 'Mayo Reform Movement'. He stood as an Independent in the GE picking up 1.2% of the vote.

Other founding members include solicitor Declan Moylan, NUIG's Dr Gearóid Barry and barrister Maria Steen (Iona Institute board member, regularly on Newstalk)


The project is being set up as a charity and depends on donations to cover its expenses.

The fecundity of uber Catholics isn't what it was.

Quite amusing in a way that extremist catholicism in Ireland is likeliest in the end to be killed off by death itself.

A 2,000 year pursuit of the happiness-after-death I suppose will be accompanied in true Irish style by a pulling up of the celestial ladder behind all the fruit and nut cases from St Bonkers of Belmullet right up to the 'altarboy Senator' from the rotten pocket borough of Maynooth.

Paddy as you mention atheism in one of your arguments I can only assume you are a Catholic. The premise which religion is against homosexuality is based on the teachings of Leviticus. If such as you say you do not believe in gay marriage as its a christian institution then I take it you are aware of the other things in Leviticus such as not having sex with a menstruating woman,not eat shellfish and we can all own slaves? Children need a caring and loving home with gender roles being constructed by society but both parents whether same sex or hetro will each share the responsibility of raising a child . This notion that it needs a mother and father and that there is predefined roles are outdated notions, there is stay at home dads and career women now. Finally Paddy if you do want to marry your cat, fire ahead it might be one way you get pussy inside marriage……

I'd like to see the frantic christian male announce that one by the fire because the rule is in the bible- genuinely- I'd like to be standing near the house to hear the ominous Rattling of The Pots and see then the Vesuvian catholic male departing via a window.

Most of these clowns are as catholic as all getout when they see a chance to instal 'VictorianMores 1.0' in their family and haven't a bloody clue whats in the bible or anywhere else.

They are extremist social reactionaries pretending to be holy as a disguise for their highly selective nastiness.

Religious cover is used as an excuse for bigotry is what comes to mind in some cases I have seen. They see religion as being an excuse on the far right as being a stick with which they can beat the gay community. catlick comments are not going to keep schtump either. . . .
