Most of the membership is from the city but I live in the county so it covers both as far as I know.

Nope it all really happened.

The political comments and criticisms are of course mine and while not everyone would agree with their conclusions I don't think the basic facts would be contested.

I think they are treating the independents with open disdain.

No - what we had before was more like that.

Now we have the SWP more-or-less openly posing as the super-democratic friends of the non-aligned and even the SP are having to make concessions (in Cork they have actually been forced into conceding more than they would have liked).

In Cork two of the key non-aligned members came in as pretty solid SP supporters but are now almost completely disenchanted with them. And I think this reality has had an impact on their thinking as well.

The question is now that the genie is out of the bottle, by making some concessions to the non-aligned, can they control that process towards a new party and keep at the slow pace their schema dictates.

Have Independents been nominated for the "structures" sub-committee?

Well I have been nominated (see my blog for a quick and brief election statement I pulled together after getting a call from ULA head office) but given the rushed nature of the process I not sure how many nominees there will be.
