SIPTU saying it will 'resist' outsourcing. Empty rhetoric given that it signed up to Croke Park which gives a blank cheque for outsourcing.

Croke park (which I have never supported) does not give a blank cheque for outsourcing.

It specifies that nobody in the PS can be made redundant in the event of outsourcing, so that outsourced jobs cannot save the govt all that much.

I do agree that if Howlin outsources public services, then that is a betrayal of what he stands for.

Outsourcing has nothing to do with savings, it's all about diverting public resources into private profits.

As if there was anything left for him to betray.

Will they flog it off to the trade or float it with cut price shares to generate public support for privatisation?

National Library getting ready to sell off the family silver- to one of their friends or relations no doubt. Once they put a bank clerk and friend of David Harvey chairman, in charge of our academic institution the writing was on the wall. See puff piece by Fine Gaeler John McManus

SIPTU will gum their way to victory for the Irish worker. They are going to 'resist' taking the brown envelope and then bravely give in in the end.

All rise for a quick salute of the picture of James Connolly on the wall.
Think National. Act Local. Oh- and superstition is just the dark matter of human history.

All the unions affiliated with Labour party have gone very very quiet since Lab came into power.

When FF along with their not so loyal lapdog the Greens were in power, Lab unions were very very vocal about in the media, print, everywhere et al. It makes you wonder were these unions paid in brown envelopes or were told to shut up leave Labour alone.

Begg, O Connor, Horan of CPSU... these govt lackeys were totally compromised re SIPTU 'slush' fund. Saw O' Connor in the pub recently as i would have given him a blasting but thought better not.

Some SIPTU members I was talking to are thinking of withdrawing from union because of donations to Labour. Am I correct in assuming some of the money from SIPTU goes to Labour?

Thanks to Fluffy re ind paper link:

Among those getting €2,500 from SIPTU were Labour ministers Joan Burton , Ruairi Quinn and Brendan Howlin , along with TDs Anne Ferris, Kevin Humphreys, Colm Keaveney, Ged Nash, Willie Penrose , Emmet Stagg and Jack Wall..... disgusting isn't as they are paid €2.5k on top of their govt salaries/expenses (both vouched/unvouched)/additional perks such as pensions as well.

In a small victory against privatisation an American backed bid to get involved in providing school transport has failed in the High Court.
