    Default Toolbar Traumas (and Tips)

Moved over to Firefox, now Google has infested Firefox - Killed Chrome. IE is lurking on one PC still. Firefox has a life of its own.

Am finding the whole thing a nightmare, unfortunately

Not when your in the middle of starting a forum up.
It's supposed to be much more secure, and you can keep a row of sites up on the bar, which you can save when you log off. But is also a bit complex and quirky. When I was changing over, they all started fighting with each other for control. Little bstds.

La na Ludair talked me into firefox once and it seemed much faster than any IE but I couldn't see any youtube clips. Tried upgrading java and things got worse so gave up on it.

    I like the 'typo'
For some reason recently i can only open a link to youtube videos posted here and elsewhere. They used to open in the window they are posted on.

Try looking at your toolbar to see if it has a message about blocking stuff.
These toolbars try to take over your life....

    No joy.
Clicked to allow pop ups from here but still the same. It's the same with all sites though. I dont remember changing settings either.
It's no big deal tho. Nothing compared to waring browsers !!

More toolbar traumas. Since I last posted on this thread, both IE and Firefox have coerced me into "upgrades" both of which are more complex and clunkier than the old versions. IE now offers a "privacy" option, which means people can no longer tell the colour of underwear one was wearing at the time of the last search.

Now I have accidental hit control U or control I and this has changed a setting so that the print on the site is so tiny I can hardly see if there are words, never mind read them.

    Help !!!!

"ctrl" + "+/-" sounds like you've zoomed way down!

    I know Digout wouldn't.

I have Firefox and IE both on this yoke and not a bit of bother. It's handy to have both so that you can be logged into 2 yahoo accounts at once which is handy when you have to create a new yahoo account every time you get banned from a forum; if I'd a quid for every yahoo account I've created.....

Hard to say really - they all have the ability to drive you to distraction - which they happily do on regular occasions.

I have Safari & Opera installed but don't use them at all

IE - nah don't like it - used as a last resort

Firefox - would be wonderful if it worked but something always goes wrong ... this time it's being able to reply to threads on a particular Forum with is not a problem using Google Chrome. Other times it's google images pages getting stuck in a loop. Basically there's always something which isn't working

Google Chrome - has the most annoying habit of crashing suddenly, even tho they give you guff about this only happening to the tab/page you're working on and the rest will function - not true, the whole thing seizes up

So basically I switch between FF & Chrome .. but neither is perfect ... none of them are tbh

Have you installed the numerical pad which comes with the registration process? Its a good way of stamping out spam and spybots.

There might be a few useful hints in this link as well.
