"It is considered almost illegal to be a socialist in Northern Ireland, while in England, it can make you Prime Minister"

1974,along with Seamus Costello *who split from the Officials*, she founded the Irish Republican Socialist Policy.

It only lasted a year - fundamental disagreement with Costello over the relations between the military and political organisations. "The people in the military organisation know everything. My fundamental disagreement was over the dominance of the military when according to him he was building a political organisation, and I left"

It seems very well made: there is great footage running with her voice over.

I thought that was a remarkable observation.

She says:'What did we get out of the war? Pain, loss, death, destruction, brutalisation. That's what we got out of the war'

And still a Socialist Republican - "for a society in which people can relate to each other equally, as human beings"

That is good, although a tad religious, for my liking.

Good interview, so far. She says that for people like her who survived assassination attacks ( 7 bullets hit her) there is no mechanism to investigate British State involvement.

'Sectarianism has been added to by racism'

She argues that there has not been a reduction in violence, but that criminality is being excluded from the account of political violence.

She also points to patriarchy as the problem, not women, when they are under-represented in politics.

She put it simply, that the structures and organisations were set up by men in a way that they always intended that women stayed away and minded the children.
