I think that was Derek Keating, FG. Looks a bit like O'Caolain, though.

The way the story developed may not be ideal but I think overall she did a service by highlighting the sort of treatment that still occurs in these institutions (and this time in the name of cutting costs)
My point was a more general one. That there are many employees let go in Ireland without a correct disciplinary process/for spurious reasons (as was going to happen in this case). She happened to be lucky enough to benefit from the case already being in the public domain as a result of LIveline.
Anyway, I note that her contract is for six months. What are the odds that when the six months are up IAN will have a more credible reason for not keeping her on.
Lets hope many more like Louise who see alleged abuse will not be like the Wise Monkeys!See no evil,Speak no evil etc
The BAI has ruled against Liveline on a HSE complaint about bias:
http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/...321714595.htmlThe HSE complained that the two Liveline programmes “incorrectly and unfairly” gave the impression that the HSE had put pressure on the advocacy network to end Ms Bayliss’s contract and that this was in response to statements by her on a previous Liveline programme in December 2011 about treatment of patients at St Brendan’s hospital.
It accused the programme of giving the HSE insufficient time to respond on January 19th, of being in breach of its obligations where corroborating facts and taking the HSE view into account were concerned, and accused presenter Joe Duffy of showing bias.
