CIE is a fraud awaiting investigation by detectives. The amount of theft of stock, false invoicing, expenses looting and other forms of blatant criminality engaged in by employees of that boil on the arse of Irish infrastructure is legendary.

As ever, the solution is to try to suppress the report on the widespread criminality in that organisation is to continue to throw public money at it.

The New York docks unions run by the Westies was cleaner in terms of governance.
Think National. Act Local. Oh- and superstition is just the dark matter of human history.

Taxi drivers 'strike' in Dublin Airport.

    http://www.irishexaminer.com/ireland...es-205010.html

Since the drivers are not employed by the DAA but are either self employed or drive for other companies, I wonder if this action is breaking laws on IR and competition.

Depending on which paper you read the Catholic church will or won't allow lay people run religious services.

It is i's inevitable that the Catholic church will have to involve the laity in many of it's services.

Will also have to consider ordaining women, and allowing male priests to marry.

Church of Ireland have shown the way

Lab senator John Whelan seems to have accepted that he won't be displacing one of the sitting Laois TDs at the next GE. Repeating the discredited spin on PS workers sick leave isn't likely to win him too many votes in Portlaoise where the state is the main employer.

Haulier Target Express has closed and is blaming the Revenue. No great surprise there as most Irish businesses seem to think that the Revenue shouldn't trouble them to pay their taxes.

Maybe we shouldn't be surprised at this little nugget from today's IT either:-

"Target Express is the main sponsor of Tyrone GAA.

Mr McBrien is listed on the website of the group known as Concerned Irish Business, which has offered support to the former head of the Quinn group, Seán Quinn."

The Examiner spins statistics to make a baseless claim that PS workers are earning €300 more than their private sector counterparts.
