Baby Brute is to come up with a plan to create 20,000 new manufacturing jobs. Presumably the government is trying to keep the live register flat as it sheds PS jobs.

A new Quango with a plan by year end will create jobs. Definitely

The Manufacturing Development Forum includes officials from Government development agency IDA, Forfas and private sector senior executives from manufacturing companies.

They must come up with a plan of policy actions to be published by the end of the year and open up talks between industry representatives and Government bodies to get rid of any obstacles affecting growth in the manufacturing sector.

    Aspidistragate has been resolved.

"A statement released last night by the station and agreed by the Government Information Service (GIS) said: “Following a meeting between TV3 and GIS regarding a doorstep held at the national library, it has been agreed that what was understood to have been an allegation of assault was not intended as such.”"

We don't yet know if Gump will use the incident to protect himself from questioning by Halligan in a similar fashion to the way he uses the 'Whiskey and revolver' matter to hide from Browne.

"Sir, – For about two weeks, a three-storey building-sized poster of a nearly naked male model has been hanging at the proposed Abercrombie Fitch site at College Green, Dublin.

I remain in a state of sanguine expectation as I await to see the National Women’s Council of Ireland, indeed all the righteous women and men of the nation, step up, as at the time of the Hunky Dorey crisis, and in the interests of equality and fairness (for what else could it be that stokes the fire of feminists everywhere?), declare this cynical advert an assault on the dignity of men by being “offensive, exploitative, tasteless, degrading and sexist”. – Yours, etc,

    Gormanstown,

That's probably an eye of the beholder judgement.

The letter writer makes fair points though. A poster of a woman pushing down her jeans like that would have drawn howls of protest from the usual suspects within hours of installation.
