    Default The property spin continues

Another stupid property story in todays "Independent". In the article, the development being flogged is described as luxury. However, the photo shows a cheap fence between the houses and they look like they are very close together.

I have had the pleasure of spending time in proper luxury developments in the States and other places and this development is far from luxury.

Luxury probably = meets building regs and planning guidelines and keeps out water.

Luxury before too long will mean having a roof over your head.

'Luxury' in Oireland Inc. means not having dole-scum like me as a neighbour. A cardboard box in 'Renelagh' or 'MonteSnottee' would be described by our country's estate agents as 'luxury accommodation'.
"It is we the workers who built these palaces and cities here in Spain and in America and everywhere. We, the workers, can build others to take their place. And better ones! We are not in the least afraid of ruins. We are going to inherit the earth; there is not the slightest doubt about that. The bourgeoisie might blast and ruin its own world before it leaves the stage of history. We carry a new world here, in our hearts."

I like how they describe tiny studios or box apartments as "bijou" meaning small jewel.
    "Jaysus, it's a bit small"
    "Oh no Sir it's bijou"
"City living" is a flat in the centre where you can hear your neighbours riding at night.
"Country chic" is some half finished development in the sticks surrounded by other half finished developments

Bet there will be more of such sales.

Strange that these didn't take place BEFORE NAMA kicked in. That of course would have decreased the price paid for the loans.
