Markets falling globally after Trump's threat of fire and fury against Korea. Tillerson has been trying to damp things down.

    Ha !

Gold up. Although what good radioactive gold would be, I don't know.

Our Min. for Justice was interviewed on RTE this evening and asked if Ireland would be prepared for a nuclear war. Wouldn't affect us, he said.

I suppose we could get out those old iodine tablets from the back of the kitchen drawer.

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee. unquote.

US exercises have again started in South Korea. Exercises and spy incursions are a regular feature of Korean life. The South Koreans who protest are given very little of the "Free World" experience. South Korean President Moon has expressed extreme concern about US threats.

Mr. Moon also stressed his opposition to military action against North Korea to a visiting American congressional delegation. “Even a very limited military option would eventually lead to an armed clash between South and North Korea,” Mr. Moon’s office quoted him as telling the delegation, led by Senator Edward J. Markey of Massachusetts. “This would endanger the lives of many foreigners in South Korea, including American servicemen, as well as South Koreans.”

On Sunday, the North’s main state-run newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, likened the drills to an act of “throwing fuel onto fire” that would “worsen the situation.”
“No one can guarantee that this will not escalate into a real war,” it said, calling the annual drills a “rehearsal for nuclear war” and the “most naked expression of hostility” toward the North.
The war games, which last 11 days, involve some 17,500 American service members, including about 3,000 from outside the peninsula, and 50,000 South Korean troops. The exercises include computer simulations carried out in a large bunker south of Seoul intended to check the allies’ readiness to repel aggressions by the North.
The drills this year are the second Ulchi-Freedom Guardian exercises since the United States and South Korea reportedly revised their war plans in 2015 to reflect the North’s advances in its nuclear capabilities.

Watched a tv program a few weeks ago relating to secret experiments carried out during the second world war in relation to causing explosions to create a tsunami. The plan was to drown small islands inhabited by Japanese soldiers. It concluded that only a nuclear type device would generate enough energy to do the job.

Just wondering, would there be a similar tactic being considered when North Korea causes these splashes in the ocean near places like Guam? Sure would wreck havoc. Timely little documentary on files just discovered.

Recorded as a 6.3 earthquake equivalent, 8 times more powerful than Hiroshima.
