Spotted this comment during the week

Seán Sherlock's Irish Times letter about science funding in Ireland shows he is either willfully or negligently ill-informed: baddy or fool.

Ireland's science funding policy is like buying a racing stallion and then gelding it after it wins races because you fancy a feed of balls

What a small, unimaginative, money-grubbing little plan.
There can be no doubt that Baby Brute is engaged full time in digging man-traps for Enda Kenny. Every single idea he comes up with is caculated to make the government more unpopular. Noel Dempsey did much the same for Fianna Fail proposing the introduction of Voting Machines, re-introduction of of 3rd Level frees, the requirement that provisional drivers should have a fully qualified driver present in their car and his involvement in the Corrib gas project. Dempsey also received widespread criticism across all the Irish media over his January 2010 holiday in Malta and perceived uncontactability at this time when severe weather conditions led to massive disruption in across Ireland's transport systems

I heard something about only projects with a minimum of 30% advance corporate funding will be approved. I hope I got that wrong.

Bit of a mix up on This Week? Sounded like the wrap-up clip was played out of turn.

Indeed. I always wondered whether Dempsey was deliberately and actively working against Biffo, or whether he was just incredibly thick (even by FF standards) and possessed, like so many others of his ilk, of an insufferable sense of entitlement.

I finally leaned towards the "incredibly thick (even by FF standards)" option.

Lynch says the health service will need to 'employ a different type of person at a different rate'. Or in other words - Labour wants to Yellow-pack the health service.

It's hard enough to listen to Lynch and her dis, dat and doze without having to look at her as well.

I wonder if her mother regretted, in retrospect, giving her a name with 'th' in it.

Is it farce or tragedy for a minister in Cowen's government to criticise a minister for being 'haphazard'?

RTE gives a lot of air time to members of the small Fianna Fail Party.
