Brian Dowling on about self inflicted political injuries in Health. I didn't realise that he's as bald as a coot. Don't normally see him from that angle

Charlie's panel desperately trying to congratulate him on his RTE career. That's hardly his final programme today, is it?

The 'comedy' thingie after his show yesterday lunchtime took the unmerciful p1ss out of him. They spliced his real time spluttering, dead air pauses and non sequiters with a fake Michael Noonan. Not particularly funny but devastatingly accurate.

What's the story here? Did Tom Savage get on the red phone to the lads to drop everything and get Sean Brady on for a quick lash of the crozier?

Not a bit comfortable talking about gay marriage is Sean. He wouldn't use that terminology. It weakens the concept of marriage.

The Bunny is as downbeat as he was on VB the other night. Is there something afoot in Lab that we don't know about?

Pat sez he came on to talk about wind energy and ends up addressing the concerns of the Cardinal "for which he is unequipped'.
Gwan Pat, give it a lash

The old ebullience is gone. He's seen the future and it doesn't work.

Ooooh, ratty dismissal of her figures there - "I don't care where you got them I'm telling you the true figure".

Rabbitte says it would be reckless and dangerous to leave ourselves 'at the mercy of the UK' for our energy but the policy of his government is to leave people in Donegal 'at the mercy of the UK' for their health needs.

Lab is so attached to standards that they have them on the double.

So what happened with the programme? Rabbitte says he came on to talk about wind energy.
At what stage did the producer decide to lead with Sean Brady? When did RTE decide that the Church should be allowed to upset their schedule and stick their representative into a lunchtime radio programme to discuss an issue that has had absolutely no news traction during the week?
Are there unexpected downsides to having a former priest as our national media boss?
