So in old stevedore jargon, Scully has been blacked.

Darren Scully says he has suffered personally and has received many harsh texts and emails. He's very fearful now because he had an unpleasant experience in the Garda Station and a file has gone to the DPP.
He said that legally he is not allowed to comment about his employment status(although Cillian Forde who was also on said that Scully 'had been let go' from his job.
Scully said " I have paid a very high price for my comments and I believe my punishment should be the end of the matter"
However, he is still a member of FG and a sitting counciller so he can stand again in 2014 for FG.

Was there any inclination that he understood what he was saying that day?

With regard to your first link, that report has been discredited. The doctor who wrote it displayed a total misunderstanding of how the Irish taxi industry is organised. See my post linked below from another thread.

Your second link is to Dil Wickremasinghe's home site. Her excellent radio program "Global village" on Newstalk is sponsored by VIP taxis.

Third link is to an evening herald article, need I say more?

Intergration Ireland are going to publish a report in a few weeks detailing the situations such as this as far as I am aware . I'll leave it till then to see what they say.....

Not a bit of it. He finished off by saying the really good thing that had come out of the situation was that people could now have a cool, reasonable debate about immigration
Retrospective self congratulation on doing Irish society a favour
